Fan Connection

I recently bought a new fan for my Gateway G6-450. The fan had 2 bare wire connections so i just opened up my power supply and tied it in to 2 bare contacts right as the power enters the comp, will this cause any problems?
 
If the fan is 120v AC, the it is okay, but make sure the wires are insulated.
If the fan isn't 12v, get ready for a lot of smoke 🙂
