I got a small fan for my Radeon, but it has adhesive on it already. Is it ok to apply Arctic Silver also? or is that bad?

Either use just the adhesive pad, or remove it. But do not try and use both.

For one, I don't think the adhesive is going to stick to the Arctic silver. Your fan may fall off, and short-out your motherboard. Usually people remove the pad (rubbing alchol cleans the residue up nicely) and apply super glue to just the corners of the chip, with the Arctic silver covering up those areas without super glue. Then attach the heatsink.

I guess if you have retaing pins out side of the chip, then yes you could attach it with both, but the idea is to get rid of heat, and that would only create another barrier for the heat to have to dissiptate thru on its way to the heatsink.

There is an Artic Silver + Glue combo up on their website. They are just 2 "solutions" that you mix up before you apply and it sticks when it drys. I have tried it with my Geforce fan and works like a charm.

I thought you guys were talking about super gluing and adhesive pads??? Not about the "A" and "B" solution mixture on the artic silver site!!!
