bought a 92mm to 60 mm fan addapter cpu temps 43c blowing and sucking that temp was idle afraid to stress cpu

What type of CPU do you have? For most current CPUs, 43C is well within acceptable limits.. even 50C is. (running an already hot 1.4 Athlon @ 1.85v using an 8045 and a Panaflo.. idling at 46, load at 51-52.. no probs at all)

You should never worry about anything under 50 deg. C.

Hell, I was running a K6-2 350 at about 65 deg. C. for 18 months, and it still lives (i have added a case fan now... 😉)

Heh.... On minimal cooling, I get temps of 44C idle, max cooling... it drops to 29~32C... But then again, I'm a victim of REALLY LOUD fans when increasing cooling... 4X80mm case fans and the good ol Delta Black Label... ARGH !!!!!!!

Much better when it's set to low cooling... the delta and two of my 80mm are at 7V and the other two 80s are off...
😀

Just keep in mind that any software you use to monitor this will not be 100% accurate! i use a thermal probe and software is always 6c cooler. So be carefull. If you are on the edge, you may in fact be over it. But AMD says you can run hotter, but I still don't beleive them! 😉

Thanks MoFunk, but yes, the chip is fine - just basics of silicon. The warning temp is at 70 so it never goes above that now. Silicons normally OK up to 85 at least...

And the chip still works... 🙂

Same here

Alpha 8045 = $29

1 Panaflo Fan (CPU) = $5

4 PP & C Fans (Case) = $20

Silent PC = PRICELESS 😀

Like it says, just glued 5 pieces of .090 plexiglas together to get a big hunk of plastic. Drilled a real small hole in the center so I could use a compass to draw concentric circles on both sides. Laid out the small and large sizes on oposite sides and cut the small(approx. 80mm) hole with a jig saw. Then put some magic marker on the inside of the hole so I could see the outline better and used like a rotary rasp to cut the funnel shape to the large(92mm approx.) hole by hand with the plastic in a vice, working my way around and finished it with a sanding wheel. Cut the outside square and drilled the holes. Took a hour not counting the time it took the glue to dry.
