How is racism any different from religion? That is my point. Quite simply it is not. People believe their religion to be superior, they persecute (consciously or unconsciously) those who choose to believe different. They believe because of their lot in life they are spiritually and morally superior to anyone who is not part of their indoctrinated group.
That was my point. I am not a racist, but being christmas time and reading all the crap going around this was a good springboard to point out hypocrisy.
There is a huge difference between believing a religion to be true, and believing yourself to be superior. The two are not necessarily mutually exclusive, but I can believe in what I believe in and not feel superior. I am not superior to anyone, and my own faith tells me that indeed I am worthy of nothing. My own salvation is not because I am worthy, but precisely because I am unworthy. A healthy person has no need of healing.
Just to play devils advocate, not all white supremacists believe their race is necessarily better than another. Instead, they see race more in terms of a culture or way of life. So by supporting the white race, their really supporting what they see as a culture/or even nationality.
I definitely don't agree with white supremacists, but perhaps the world isn't always so black and white. Prescriptions to racism, nationality, patriotism, religion, and culture can all lead to inherent bias and discrimination--as all distort ones perspective of reality.
