Personally I fucking hate it. Not that I'm not open to these ideas, it's just that, if I'm watching a cartoon, it's because I want to laugh. Not have someone shove their ideas down my throat.

I didn't mind the atheism episode, because it showed how some Christians can be as loony Islamic extremists.


But the MJ episode? I couldn't believe I was watching a cartoon where the whole town was smoking weed and singing about how great marijuana is. I seriously put on my WTF face. My wife didn't know what hit her. And I officially stopped watching Family Guy after that.

I know MJ isn't harmful, but it sure isn't any good either. It's smoking that I have the issue with. No human should inhale anything burned. It doesn't make any fucking sense. But we are in America, land of the free, so I fully support anyone who wants to light a joint in their homes.


So that was my rant, Family Guy isn't funny anymore.

You mean that show hasn't always been full of news-of-the-minute unfunny political humor?

EDIT: And your op makes you sound like you have more issue with the specific message than the existence of politics in the show.
 
Wow, really? MacFarlane is pretty liberal, I'm surprised you were able to last this long. Family Guy has always been a bit of a soap box for his politics, this isn't anything new.

So smoking Marijuana is bad, but if you vaporize it then it's ok. Got it. Fail rant, fail explanation, and fail beliefs.
 
I stopped watching that shitty show when the dumb singing and musicals and cut-aways to John Conway started to take away so much airtime I may as well not watch any more. Also the jokes just aren't funny anymore.

Someone here takes comedies WAAAAAAAAAAAAY too seriously.

Thank you OP for your opinion. And thank you for expressing it on the internet forums, because someone here has to be wrong.

I personally believe that Family Guy is still funny and will continue to watch every episode that comes out of Seth's studio.
 
its tiresome when they get blatantly political. you don't tune in to see that after all, you tune in to escape that garbage...they need to stfu about stuff. its like having p&n invade ot, its just not good or necessary.

Haha yeah that's the one. Unfortunately they never had cutaway segments to John Conway, that's something that might actually keep me entertained :laugh:
 
All I got from this thread is that the OP isn't morally or politically opposed to marijuana use, but rather the act of smoke inhalation itself. In other words he's as against marijuana use as he is against outdoor grilling.
 
The MJ episode was hilarious. That episode wasn't even about MJ for the most part - it was about how you shouldn't sell out (Brian got reamed, remember?).

I do hate whey they blatantly peddle one side's politics or quote somebody out of context, though. Otherwise the show's still good for a laugh. And I hate the cutaways to Conway Twitty. Just not funny.

Kinda, but everyone still didn't understand me. I'm fine with MJ, I just think vaporizing it is at least healthier than smoking it. Or smoking anything. You wouldn't inhale over a BBQ pit anyway.
