As if that would ever happen.

A child revolts against their parents because they never have a voice in decisions.

A citizen never has to revolt because in a democracy they have a voice, they have an elected advocate that cares for them, looks out for them, that listens to them. No revolt is necessary because democracy is beautiful.

So just keep calm and carry on a.k.a shut the fuck up

Keep dreaming, this country is no longer a republic. That shit went away after 9/11. The terrorists won.

Wow, just wow...

If that is what you truly believe (by which I am specifically calling you a troll with this post) ... I actually don't know how to end this thought...

Was thinking of the same thing.

Even being in florida and having a mature garden like that unless they have a ton of land it won't produce that much food.

When a kid in NH, we had a small veggy plot 100x300 that produced enough for a family of six, But it took 10+ years to get the soil proper. Every fall & spring we would till in fresh manure. Earthworms loved us. 🙂

That picture looks about 30 ft in diameter.

Notice that they saw 80% of their meals came from the garden.
It does not say a full meal; but I can see them getting some salads from it. Miami Shores will have decent growing weather and if they took care of the soil they could get produce year round

Vegetable gardens DO NOT belong on a front yard.

And it is not just a HOA thing. There are very few cities that would allow vegetable gardens on a front yard.

Democracy is so beautiful it left you speechless. I am honored that I was able to bring its beauty to you and left you profoundly touched. Touched in a good way not a traffic stop turned anal probe way.

Bingo.

I have very little sympathy for people who choose to live in city / HOA hellholes.

You know moving in that there are SO many laws that you're always in violation of at least one. Can't park on the street. Can't park across the sidewalk. Can't park on the lawn.

My sister-in-law was 'turned in' by her next door neighbor for have a species of bush that had been deemed 'inappropriate' for the area in St. Clair Shores, MI. Just a normal, green, bush. Non-invasive, with pretty flowers. They made her remove it.

Seriously. If you don't like being controlled by power-hungry politicians and over-eager busybodies, get the hell out of dodge.

Pics of sister in laws inappropriate bush Pls.

People attempting to farm without the proper permitting put the entire nation's food supply at risk.

Plant and livestock diseases must be prevented at all costs.

It's possible that a personal farm can develop a disease that can threaten our nation's entire crop or livestock harvest. Is having a personal farm not supervised by the FDA and without proper permits and licenses by state and local authorities a freedom that we absolutely must have?

Absolutely not!

its slime like you that need to just go away

Sarcasm abounds, but if your child died from salmonella from your home grown tomatoes, you'd be wishing that some governing body came in and tore them out before you had the chance to kill your own child.

God this is just so ignorant. There is no way any family-level cook could use a tomato that is so bad it would actually kill, unless they were totally ignorant in which case its a case of natural selection. These outbreaks of bacterial infections you hear about on the news are caused by extremely unsanitary conditions, usually during the processing stage. People rarely die from eating fresh fruit.

Not surprised OP was attracted to this story, because it's bullshit. Anybody who has ever gardened at all knows that to provide 80% of food to a couple, one of whom looks to be in his third trimester, takes a lot of land.

I would be surprised if even 20% of their calories come from this little hobby of theirs. Given the bullshit claim of 80% I can't be bothered with the rest of it.

The Irish used to raise a family on 1/4th an acre before the potato famine.

If my neighbors tried planting vegetable gardens in their FRONT yard, I would be on the phone with my alderman complaing IMMEDIATELY. They do not have the right to implode my property values.

But then what of the value of their property if hey can't use it to grow food they would otherwise not be able to eat? What does this value of property mean. My next door neighbor has all kinds of vegetables growing in his front yard and planted an orange tree on the property line that will one day completely shade and cover a part of my yard.

Even if true, that's a hell of a lot bigger than the hipster looking garden I see in these pics!

Yeah, me, too. Along with most home owners. People who live in the company of others can't let their property go to shit. I have a neighbor who recently replaced their window with PLYWOOD because they are basically kicked out of the house and fighting with the bank. It's lovely entering the 'hood and seeing a house with plywood.

agreed. no way in hell are they getting 80% from that rinky dink garden. UNLESS they are claiming 1 tomato added to 80% of the meals....

they made the decision to live in a HOA. they can have the garden. it just has to be in the backyard.

If it's not against any regulations what right do you have to tell others what to do with their property? You start that shit and your gonna get a neighbor like this....

I've never even heard of a garden in the FRONT yard until this thread. I know I have never seen one. I have to believe they are banned in Milwaukee.
