Falls of Rauros - Folk/Black Metal

Hey guys, if you are into Folk, Black Metal, or Metal in general you should check out this new band. They are called Falls of Rauros and are based out of Maine.

it was independently released, they are not a signed band.

either way it's pretty cool stuff. reminds me of a mix of Primordial, Agalloch, Bathory, and Darkthrone.

no no no no! silly kid! these are black metal vocals, not death metal! It's really quite obvious in that black metal vocals are more high-pitched and scratchy, whereas death metal vocals are low, gutteral growls. The difference is as clear as night and day. I mean, honestly, any imbecile can tell the difference.

heh, I see your point... although in all seriousness those two genres can be pretty far separated. A slow, distant sounding black metal band like Xasthur or Nachtmystium sounds completely different than "ballsy", brutal death metal of high speeds and thick production.

but they are surely not clean vocals, and some people just don't like that. whatevs.
