Fallout NV First DLC "Dead Money" - Released 12/21, For XBOX Only.

Given that I never had any plans to get New Vegas, this does not upset me in the slightest.
Bethesda made it quite clear they are pandering to the console crowd with Oblivion. After that I stopped worrying about whether the computer would get proper support cuz I knew there was no point in getting my hopes up.

Also, seriously, a year from now there will be a super double diamond edition with all this shit, so dont sweat it too much.

I"m with you guys, but Im also guilty of giving away xbox and nintendo to my nephews as gifts.. that's all they want now. You'll never hear a 7 yr old say I want a Quad core/radeon 6750 gaming PC for xmas. The situation will just get worse..

New Vegas on the PC is all kinds of RPG fun. If you're avoiding it from some anti-console backlash sentiment then you're only hurting yourself.

This particular DLC doesn't interest me so I don't mind missing out. But then I didn't care about most of the FO3 DLC either, I've only played Broken Steel and part of Point Lookout.

I am with dave been playing alot of the game recently. Just finally got into the strip so maybe when i beat the game i will want to look up the dlc.

As great of a game Fallout NV is, I have no plans on purchasing DLC that is overpriced and offers little content compared to a reasonably priced full expansion (that Bethesda used to make for their games). Consoles can keep their DLC, I'll be more than happy with my free mods.

Consoles are the money makers - you can thank Microsoft and Sony for that. Plus they are a closed system so it's easier to debug where as PC's require a hell of a lot more debugging.

Don't fret - the DLC will be released for the PC eventually - heck, I'd even think it should have the same identical file structure correct? The Xbox360 is nothing more than a glorified PC - right?! 🙂

Games For Windows. Huh? Huh? Gone already?

Damn, hope they release a lot more DLC. Finishin gup my second cahracter now.

Well said. I love the game on the pc.

When I wanted my first high end pc my parents flipped. Consoles sell well because they are comparatively cheap.

I cant speak for others here, but I am not avoiding for anti-console backlash. I am avoiding it because the computer version has more DRM and is less polished and overall just more headaches. A year from now when they have all the needed patches and it has come down in price, then I will be willing to deal with its imperfections. I really wish I had not spent full price on Oblivion and Fallout 3. I know better now.
And it will be the same with Elder Scrolls 5.

I wonder how the dlc will work with my game, I kindof went on a killing spree after hitting level 30.

Steam is technically DRM, but it also lets you play without needing your DVD, just your Steam account. To me that's more convenient than old style disc checks but to each their own.

Despite what you might have heard the game is very playable right now. I know of one brittle (but optional) sidequest and a few glitches with companions but the only thing I've had to deal with in over 100 hours of play is the typical slow memory leaks that will sometimes crash the game after 2-4 hours of play.

Of course if you have other games to play then it will only get cheaper the longer you wait.

In line with other exclusive XBox 360 content lately, the goal of this DLC revolves around Doritos, possibly saving a Doritos factory or finding 10 bags of Doritos.

I still don't have New Vegas. But, I almost never buy DLC for games. Every time I have, its been a complete waste of a money. Useless crap. I still have half a mind to hurl a rotten egg into EA's lobby after that crap they called Witch Hunt.

😉

In the ~60 hours spent on FNV I had one glitch - vendors wouldn't respawn their stock. Not really a problem as I found my equipment on enemies during my travels anyway. And that was before the patches came out... those actually borked my game (as I was running a few mods).

To each their own, I guess *shrug*

The DLC will be available on all platforms shortly. Shit, it's like you guys have never seen this before. Do you really have to have everything the moment it has been announced?
