I'm almost wrapped up with the NV main quest, and I'm putting it off to explore just because I like the side quests. I also just added a mod to allow all companions to travel with you. Its waaaay OP with all that firepower behind you, but I enjoy the dialogue with the various companions. Veronica has a nasty obsession with dresses.

There's also a couple other mods that let you change what they wear and what weapons they use. But ya it's fun running into a pack of Fiends and an honest-to-goodness fire fight breaks out between them and all of your companions. There's bullets flying everywhere  :D

I loved both games. Very hard to choose between the two, but if someone held a gun to my head I would say NV because of a few improved tweaks to the gameplay.

LOL. If someone put a gun to my head, I'd think I have more important things to worry about than FO3 or NV. Wouldn't you?

I enjoyed NV more because it seemed better polish wise and storywise. I've put in my fair share in FO3 too. Remember checking the bomb out in the first town and instantly realised that i'd be the one defusing it sooner or later. EPIC moment that.

Going to go with New Vegas simply because I can actually play it. I tried to play Fallout 3 just the other day but it keeps crashing with some GFWL error, making it unplayable :( So I'm playing through NV again at the moment.

I do remember enjoying the atmosphere of Fallout 3 more than NV when I originally played it though. Hopefully I can get it up and running again at some point.

Fallout 3 is decent game but NOT a fallout game

Fallout NV is a great game AND a pretty good fallout game.

I guess we havent had this thread enough.

I liked the main story and important NPC's better in Fallout 3.
I like the side quests and unimportant NPC's better in New Vegas. Especially the DLC like Old World Blues. Also the companion interface was a lot better.
Actually, the crafting interface was much better too. In fact with plugins crafting can be almost too insane.

FO3 -- better storyline, MUCH bigger area to explore, less linearity due to bs hidden walls / impassable mountains that forced your way.

NV did add some nice touches like survival mode, more crafting, more weapons but with a weaker story and smaller area was more bleh.
