Fallout New Vegas Mod The Frontier - bigger world space than the Mojave

That's right, the Fallout New Vegas mod The Frontier is an all-new imagining of the Fallout world in nuclear winter, and it currently has a new world space that is bigger than the Mojave. With a tentative release this winter (which would put it competing with Fallout 4 if posted-and-hurriedly-removed dates or dates from previous examples are to be believed), this mod is under construction by a variety of well-known mod authors (Maybenexttime, Joshbadwriter, Nyaalych, Weijiesen, Macintroll, Bentuttle90, Bethjunkie, Devilswish182, Hopper31 - literally too many respected names to mention) and scored by Michael la Manna, this is the most ambitious mod I've seen attempted. Other highly ambitious mods such as the excellent Project Brazil have ended up in limbo or highly scaled back as life intervenes, paying work or family take precedent, and promised help never materializes, so YMMV as always, but this is a BIG team of talent. Here's hoping.

This would be an expansion of the New Vegas game into a new word space, playable by your existing Courier character. Right now they are also promising some very impressive new features, including dynamic weather with real effects on your character, boss battles (not something I generally enjoy), aerial dogfights, airborne assaults, destructible environment (including fire that spreads), etc.

Here are links. The Developer's Blog includes a couple interviews by Alchestbreach (one including a demo of early tank operation - think M4 Shermans) as well as some earlier interviews and some well-down teaser clips, including vertibird patrols.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm generally all for freebies but that youtube cut scene is pretty amateur. But I didn't even really like the vanilla versions of these so guess I'm not the guy they're made for.

You started by thanking him, then said you didn't even like the games so you weren't interested. If your time is so valuable why did you even comment? Just didn't make sense.

Not to mention coming into a thread about a game he admittedly didn't even like.

Rogue Dao (Neverwinter) and Team Gizka (KOTOR 2) taught me not to get excited about any mod until after it is released.

If it succeeds, great! It will give me something to play while I wait for the first patch or two to fix Fallout 4 :)
