I never said I did everything in either game. What I said was that I did the main story line in NV, and did a fair amount of sidequests and exploration, and that took me 55 hours of gametime.

Of course, I can't quantify how much I accomplished in FO3, but I played that game with a similar approach and style, and finished the main quest (sans broken steel) at 29 hours. Of course, when I go back and explore the rest of the map even more, I'm sure the hours will jump, but so will NV.

I played NV first, it's quite possible I played that at a slower rate than FO3, I dunno. All I know, is that I was pretty disappointed with the length of FO3.
The storyline quest in FO3 was to kick you out of the vault, and point you to Megaton. Let dear old dad go <spoilers spoilers spoilers>, and go do other stuff, like get into Vault 106.

Fallout New Vegas was much better in my opinion and I had a lot of fun playing it, I had played Fallout 3 before but never finished it despite many attempts. I felt New Vegas better captured the humour, story/writing and feel of the original games.

Neither are as good as Fallout 2, this was a masterpiece of a game back in its day, I think the biggest disappointment with the games was the horrible buggy engine which felt very float consolized, I had to tinker with FPS locks, multi-threading issues, FOV, advanced graphics detail, and deal with crashing with both FO3 and FONV. Had these issues not existed out of the box the experience would have been a lot better, I'm sure.
