Well nobody asked Bethesda to give out review copies. If they'd hold out till the game is released, they'd probably sell more copies... Now a large number of people will be done with the game on Xbox long before it's released. Now I'm thinking.. Who was it that said PC gaming is dying because of piracy? Piracy that is a lot more harmful and prevalent on PCs than it is on consoles? Show of hands please!!! lol

I am amused.... Heck, at least I don't remember a single case on the PC when a game was leaked almost a funking month before it's release!!! A week, maybe.... A few days? Sure... But a month?! (ok maybe it happened once or twice, but it's certainly not a common thing)

And after all this crap Tom Clancy's End War makers are saying that they'll postpone their game for PC till February cause of piracy...

That's not the game spirit :( I'm looking forward to this game, I just hope that the collectors edition doesn't sell out around here too quickly.

It's a lot harder to pirate on a console than you seem to be making it.

1) You'll need to overwrite the firmware on your DVD drive. This requires locating the walkthrough and then also complete the update.

2) Never connect this 360 to Live. Period. MS can detect the FW upgrade and will then ban out your system. You can't even use a Silver account for demos or anything.

3) Find the ISO for the game, and then properly burn it.

PC - much easier.

It would be nice if that were true, but the dominant firmware used to flash 360s is xbox live safe. You do have to open your console, then all that is done is you attach the hard drive to your motherboard in your pc, and run a program to flash the firmware.

After that you just burn the games and play, and you can play on live. The only thing that gets people banned is playing games on their console before their street release date, or playing a backup that was made from an image that improperly dumped the security sector of the original disc.

This is why I don't get the whole it's hard to pirate 360 games, after you've flashed it, it's no different than what pc pirates do.

Actually after you've flashed a 360 , its way easier than a pc, because you just burn the games and play.
Where with pc games you've gotta jump through hoops for each game individually depending on its protection.

Anyway, im sure game companies dont care as much about console piracy because the MAJORITY of the the console community arent tech savvy enough to mod their console, so it is as simple as console games = more sales.
And who can blame them, it is a BUSINESS after all.

Back on topic:
I hope this does turn out to be great, because so far Crysis Warhead and Stalker Clear sky both feel like "more of the same stuff we paid for last year" to me.
Not that they are bad games, they just dont have that "something new" feel to me. ;)

If piracy was a problem, exclusives would be migrating to the PS3 and not the other way around :p

If you're vid card is well below these specs, fell free to spend about the same amount as the game cost for a new vid card, many games will appreciate it.

As mentioned...I don't think there's ever been a time where you could get more bang for the dollar on a video card upgrade. There's some good options around the $100 mark, but even if you want to spend less than that there's some good ones.

Tom Clancy games universally suck. I'll be okay if they never release it on PC

That's the problem I have with people suggesting that developers will stop making games for the PC due to piracy. It makes no sense, and game publishes know this.

At worst, we'll see a rise in PC + console crossovers.

Money is the bottom line for every business. Even if 80% of PC gamers pirate the game (the number is much lower than this, actually does anyone even know what the number is?), they're still making a nice profit. It costs relatively little money to take a console game and release it on PC. Relative to creating a second console game from scratch, that is. In other words, the time investment of releasing a console game on the PC as well is much more worthwhile than only concentrating on console releases. Developers make much more money this way, and that's why it's so common to see Xbox and PS3 games on the PC.

This is why PC gaming is so great. Even if piracy is as rampant as the speculators say, there's still tons of money to be had and that's what matters.

Exactly, and considering console games are significantly more expensive, it makes sense to invest in cheap upgrades for your computer right now.

Also, for all those folks who think the minimum requirements will actually make the game playable: I am afraid you will be sadly dissapointed. 5 frames per second really wont provide the experience you are looking for.

EDIT:
If you really dont want to spend much money, get a X1650 pro for 30 bucks.

Its still better than what many people are currently gaming with.

Better yet, spend some real money and get an excellent card:

I'd say thats about the best bang for the buck right now.

Actually, this is good too.
