I can't get to those links at work, but are these fixes primarily for the PC version?
On 360, this was one of the most bug-free games I ever recall playing, it really was a masterpiece.
The scope of the game is so daunting though, I'm not sure if I'll ever see everything I want to see and complete everything I want to.

The only glitch I ran into was that railway gun crash, which was kinda annoying because I found the gun pretty effective against super mutants.

I ran into a bunch of glitches on the 360, I'm kind of done playing this game but the Alaska DLC might be enough to pull me in. The main gripe I had was the fast travel system and objectives where you had to follow people. If you fast traveled sometimes they would never show up and they'd be hung up on some completely random bullshit along the way where you basically have to go find them and talk to them once and they continue on to the destination.

Also the 'getting stuck in VATS' mode wasn't so rare in my experience. It happened to me at least 8 times and really pissed me off.

I seem to have all sorts of problems with slowdowns and freezing while loading... like, no loading screen comes up... it just has a frozen screen then the next screen pops up. It's odd. It may have something to do with my 360 being on for a while and it's a minor inconvenience considering how awesome of a game this is, but hopefully this fixes things.

Have you installed to HDD? I had a couple hangs during loading that were remedied by playing off the HDD.

Yup, been playing that way the whole time.

Things seem to be running smoother with the patch in terms of crashing and long load times, but I had lots of hangs last night. Oi.

I'm so bummed about DLC for PS3. I love Fallout 3, easily one of my top 5 games of all time.

Oddly, PS3 trophy support has been there since I got the game in late December?

Not to derail the thread but how much space does that take up when you do that? 4.7GB? I hate having to switch disks all the time and I have like 45GB free on my HD that I don't think I'll come close to filling up.

You'll still have to switch discs for authentication purposes.

Installing to the HDD can improve loading times (slightly) and performance and helps to cut down on noise from loud DVD drives.

Is this DLC(expansion pack) coming out for the PC?

Yes
the developer is busy crafting three discrete bundles of downloadable content for Xbox Live and PC users as part of a Microsoft exclusivity arrangement.

But, why bother with that? There is so much free player made content to enjoy. Maybe download the Fallout 3 Creation Kit and make your own adventures.

Perhaps he wants to play the DLC?

According to the Fallout 3 wiki:

The Pitt DLC will be released in February 2009
Broken Steel DLC will be released in March 2009

Spoilers I guess...

Operation Anchorage:
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Operation:_Anchorage

The Pitt:
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/The_Pitt_(DLC)

Broken Steel:
http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Broken_Steel

I am super pumped for this shit despite Fallout 3 having a lot of unforgivable bugs in it (despite the newest patch).. it's still one of the best games I've ever played. I cannot wait for the shiny T-51b power armor :p

I actually started a new campaign a few days ago to get my character prepped for the new DLCs coming out and doing things differently this time.

Ooh nice.. I was luke warm about the OA pack, but The Pitt sounds more like it. I cant see broken steel (blocked at work), I assume this has something to do with the brotherhood ?

The Pitt will be the second Fallout 3 downloadable content pack, to be released in February 2009 for Xbox 360 and Games for Windows Live.

In this DLC pack, the player will journey to the industrial raider town called The Pitt, located in the remains of Pittsburgh. "Choose your side." This DLC is possibly based on some sort of conflict. The player will likely have different, karma-oriented methods of participating in the conflict or interacting with the NPCs in this location.

There is no official word from the developers if the player will be able to use his/her character from the Capital Wasteland storyline, given the unique situation following Take it Back!

During the latest interview with Bethesda, they claimed that Pittsburgh was not hit directly by an atomic bomb, but the surrounding water still became radiated, making the people change in bad ways.

Apparently The Pitt will be accessed via railway, and will probably be loaded as a separate map than the Capital Wasteland.

Owyn Lyons saved many young children, including Paladin Kodiak, from The Pitt and rid the area of "scum" in the surrounding regions. This was known as Operation "Scourge". The area was at the center of three, flowing irradiated rivers that altered the population of the area. How it altered them is unknown (Possible FEV virus may have turned them into Super Mutants, high radiation may have turned them feral etc.). Though, considering the history surrounding the area, the DLC is most probably set to take place in the Vault 101 Dweller's time, as a holotape in Rockopolis indicates heavy raider and slaver presence in The Pitt.
