If I get it, it will be for the PC; but I don't like the direction they seem to have taken this game, so barring stellar, convincing reviews, I won't get it.

Two more things...

1) PC Version has that nasty crapware securerom no?

2) PC version of Oblivious was essentially a port of the console versions, Fallout3 probably the same since it's the same essential engine.

Very little DRM as far as I know, having been revealed by Pete Hines anyway. Also, the PC version is made from the ground up for PC, not a port.

I'm going to get it _eventually_ on the 360. I much prefer the 360's gamepad, and I've heard that the PS3 version has some (possibly minor) issues. That said, as much as I want to get it at launch, I'm going to try to resist, because I have a zillion games already that I want to get through.

However, I'm not sure I'll be able to resist for terribly long, because I loved the previous Fallout games and Oblivion was like crack cocaine for me. Just seeing that damn Fallout 3 box gives me cravings.

That's what they said about Oblivion, too.

PC definitely....because shooters suck with those awful thumbsticks.

It isn't a shooter.

Action role-playing game

Have you seen the movies? You aim with your weapon, you shoot things with your weapon. Call it whatever you want....action, role-playing, etc. The thumbstick sucks for aiming and you need to aim with it to play the game....unless, of course, you want to play it entirely as stop motion and targeting body parts. Who needs that limitation.

I guess you just suck at using them.

The thumbsticks do not suck. They are pretty good when you get used to them. However, keyboard and mouse is still much better for games which require aiming. There is a reason most console games have auto aim.

I know they don't. I have no issue going from PS3 to 360. Reason is because not everyone is good at shooters. I always turn off auto aim.

Mouse is much more sensitive...I know you can get good using a thumbstick but it's still a thumbstick. I play everything that requires aiming on my PC, everything else on my 360. I've also got a DS and PSP so I'm not a console (or handheld for that matter) hater.

Well... aside from the fact that Bethesda says the 360 was the lead development platform. (http://www.videogaming247.com/...%80%9D-says-bethesda/)...

I'm getting it on the 360 first then the PC once the price drops and mods are actually available.

I am still stuck, if I should get it on the PC or 360...I have it reserved for 360 at the moment (going to pick up after work)...but I am still mediocre at 'FPS' on the 360.

Now the PC I am phenomenal at FPS's...

But I would 'like' to get better at console, bah! Decisions.... The only thing swaying me towards the 360 is the fact I can plop on my couch and play...and that I could sell the game if I really did not want to keep it without much of an issue...and achievements :).

PC pro is it's cheaper...probably a bit more moddable (granted I do not see much playtime after the first few runs of the game).

Are the controls really that much of a concern with this game? You can make use of the targeting system (VATS) if you find you're not able to control well on the console.

I will probably free for all (If I get it on the console)...so I can get better with the console...but how much re playability IS there beyond playing a few times?

I am leaning towards the 360 version still, haha.

Same here. I find console gaming more comfortable, even for FPSs (they're less accurate, I know, but I am not a hardcore gamer so I don't care too much). Also, I plan on using VATS most of the time since that's sort of how Fallout is meant to be played. Furthermore, I like being able to lounge on the couch instead of hunching over my desk, something I do all day at work anyway. And just dropping in the game and playing instead of having to install and then configure it to both look good and not slow down can be a hassle.

So yeah, I'll get it on the 360 to start and in a year or two when there are some mods available I'll buy it for PC, at a discount.

PC because I avoid console controllers whenever possible for FPS games. Probably will wait till the price drops some anyway.

Gamespy review is out and gave it 5/5. This quote from the review confirms my decision for a PC version instead of console:
We also noticed that targeting can be chore in the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions, as you've got to cycle through body areas before targeting the one you want. This isn't an issue in the PC version, as all you need to do is click on the body part once to target it.

Already got it for the PC, and it runs like butter. If I did get it for the 360, it wouldn't even run because my 360 is on it's last legs and has almost RROD'ed a few times on me.
