Fallout 3 leaked

Fallout 3, Bethesda's eagerly-awaited post-apocalyptic RPG, has been leaked onto file-sharing sites less than 24 hours after going gold.

It doesn't stop there. One cocky gamer has even gone so far as to post a live streaming video of their first experiences with the game. Presumably they don't have a problem with advertising the fact that they're breaking the law.

Less than 24 hours after it was sent to the disc stamper, the 360 version is already being pirated.:Q

MAJOR security bungle on the part of the company they outsourced the printing to. Hopefully the people that leaked it will be found and punished.

People that have modded their systems were going to steal it anyway, not sure this changes anything (besides those assholes who get to play it 2 weeks in advance of paying customers).

Won't stop me from buying it

Here's the real question will EA use this as an excuse to push more intrusive DRM even though tons of DRM could not have possibly prevented this??

Theres a guy at work thats playing saints row 2 already. Bet he will have this next time I see him.

Not to envious. 360 version doesnt interest me.

I wouldn't want the game that early. Don't you think it would be full of bugs? Could it possibly damage your system?

while I applaud your apparent virtuousness, I'm, at the same time, put off by the mountain of stupidity in your statements.

I wish the PC version had leaked 🙁 I'm buying the game, that's for damn sure, but I wanna play it nowwwwwwwwwww.

Saints Row 2 is also a review copy (the leaked one).

While it'd be pretty sweet to have the game early, IMO it's not worth the banned console to play these pirated games. Unless the reviews are terrible this will probably make my x-mas list.

I wonder if the next generation of consoles will provide some sort of support for stopping games from playing before release if you're not a dev console or have a special "reviewer" tag.

Already with xbox live, assuming you have an account, it registers your last played games. I'm sure Microsoft can filter this information. If I recall the last round of Bans shortly after Halo 3 included people that played it prior to release.

yea but it also missed a buncha people who played Halo 3 before it was released.

i actually had a legit coopy of halo 3 like 4 days early too, so it was out there retail early.

The biggest pirates are the developers/distributors themselves. And they blame us consumers for this.

Care to explain? I rarely post in console gaming but I would like to here why you think this.

Well, several games that are sent out to various entities before release carry hidden "watermarks" that can identify who leaked it. I believe this was how they found out who leaked an early Doom 3 build.

This certainly is a stupid comment. You'd love for it to be leaked just so you can play it early.

Um... that's exactly what he said. You need to stop posting so you don't look so stupid all the time.

Because you're claiming that the game will have something wrong with it to the point of breaking the console, which is downright stupid. If the game has leaked, that means it got finished enough to give to reviewers or sent to print. If it had gamebreaking bugs then they more than likely wouldn't ship it like that.

Looks like you missed the sarcasm. Maybe you need to stop posting so you don't look so stupid all the time.

I saw somebody playing the leaked version. It looks like they just copy pasted oblivion and changed the textures what a letdown. I really enjoyed the old games too bad they ruined it for me on this one.
