What's kind of surprising to me is that now that this turkey is coming to an end...USA Network is about to start its own "alien invader" show...

We'll see...it LOOKS like it's got a better special effects team...but only time will tell.

SFX are cheap enough now that it should be possible to do a show with some engaging visuals. It can't substitute for having a decent story but it can make a crappy story more tolerable. Let's just hope all of the sfx aren't already contained in the trailer.

This sounds though like it will be following more of a Walking Dead format.

Colony, created and exec produced by Cuse and Hercules' Ryan Condal, is a naturalistic drama about a family that's torn by opposing forces and makes difficult decisions as its members balance staying together with surviving the struggle of the human race. Set in the near future, the story takes place in Los Angeles, which exists in a state of occupation by a force of outside intruders. Some people choose to collaborate with the authorities and benefit from the new order, while others rebel and suffer the consequences.

Watched the series finale tonight. Gawd, I'm glad this show is over.

While it was occasionally "fun" to watch, more often it was painful. Acting and script writing left a LOT to be desired.

Overall, I was pretty disappointed in the show. (yet I watched it for all 5 seasons.) 😳

I haven't watched seasons 4 or 5 yet. Did it at least end in a half way decent manner?

Ended as I knew it would, too much crammed/glossed over to get through the final episodes. Felt like they had the plot details for two seasons and made it one after the network cancelled them.

So queen takes the shape of some big spider thing? And while we have never even had mention of the overlord eating habits, she starts sucking his blood out?

And the virus does take her out, and then all the other ones blow up too. Must be an interesting reason behind that.

And for the "extinct" species, all that we get after the enemy is dead is some tentacles from the water?

And the Pope scene at the end was a lol. While watching I was actually thinking about him and how cheesy it seemed to be in him getting taken out only to be surpassed by the "final battle". And boom, he shows up right after that.

Glad its over, it was so bad and illogical that there is no point in complaining... Stuck with it for 5 years so had to finish, I am just glad its over.

Pretty much this...

I forgot to save a pic of this hilarious scene. Big queen spider, and she attacked since the princess queen spider died centuries ago, so it boils down to revenge.

I was wondering why they would explode as well. I can see them falling down, and going into some kind of dormant state, but, exploding?

How did he even find the place anyway? Yet another show where they just tack things on for no good reason, instead of using the time better with some of the other gaping plot holes they had.

Yeah, the episodes where they concentrated on one thing where fine but some become bridges of several arcs leaving too much stuff rushed and not explained on screen satisfactorily.

Its a show about an alien invasion, and this is what you think the plot holes are?

They're not really plot holes but more examples of unimaginative writing. This show really wasted a lot of time on group and interpersonal conflict and precious little to the main ideas of the story. I think since Battlestar Galactica sci-fi writers have gotten the idea that sci-fi is only going to sell if they make it more like a soap opera. Maybe they're onto something there, IDK. I don't mind the soapy elements but at least pay some attention to the plot and don't make it look like you're pulling every script out of your ass. The writing for this show has been god awful pretty much since the first season. So the fact that it made it 5 seasons probably means the writers have the formula down and I'm full of shit.

Just watched a recent episode of hawaii 5-0 where they had 'maggie' spending quality time in a bikini. another thing falling sky did wrong was not enough of this 😀

After scrolling through this page, don't think I'll ever bother with the last 3 seasons.

Season 1 was okay, Season 2 was already falling to pieces, watched the first episode of Season 3, and that was enough. Every comment I've seen since then has basically been along the lines of everything you all have mentioned above.

Maybe Netflix or Amazon will pony up for some standout sci-fi shows. Heaven knows their customers should fall right into that demographic category. 😀
