Falling RAM prices???

I've heard it mentioned in several places that RAM prices are getting ready to drop, but nothing I've read has mentioned why? So I ask, why?

Yeah, I've noticed that, but from what I've read it seems like something big is going to happen. Maybe it's just wishful thinking...
