FALLING DOWN! The Movie

Excellent movie, a must-have IMO. As soon as I found out that it was available on DVD, I went out and bought it

I don't know if it was Michael Douglas' best role but it is certainly an excellent movie.

great movie. i especially love the whole fast food scene. im betting michael douglas had a lot of fun making this movie. such a great character.

Wallstreet FTW

Given that "Greed Is Good" seems to have become the mantra of today's Business Model and Business School Graduate, I disagree. Furthermore, I cannot / do not identify with any of those characters.
However, the guy in Falling Down could be "Any Man." Even the protagonist from "Wall Street" if he became unprofitable.....

Black Rain! 🙂

Was good, but the symbology/ theme in a Cops and Robbers (esp. one set in a foreign country) movie can be escapist.
In "Falling Down", that could be any of us, given the wrong set of circumstances, IMO.

Just because you don't like the character's philosophy doesn't mean it's not a good role and a great performance. We're talking great performances, not role models.

That opinions come from emotional basis does mean that I can form whatever opinion of those two disparet performances I CHOOSE to. That you like one over the other is your opinion. It does not diminsh my reasons for doing so.

I do not think that the performance of Wall Street is in the same league as Falling Down.
Kevin Costner could have done that "Greed is GOOD" line with as much pathos.

Brilliant movie, kinda like Crash in that it explores many cultures during intense situations. I'm watching Douglas in A Perfect Murder right now actually, he's good in Falling Down but I like him the most in his limited roles like in The Ghost and the Darkness and Traffic.
