Now im wondering if its real or possible, or even if anyone here tried this before . Needless to say, itll be pretty cool to enter this "State" by will.

(I'm the OP from the sleep paralysis thread) from the research I read on sleep paralysis, it is actually one of the easiest ways to induce a lucid dream and be aware of it. So if you can find a way to get sleep paralysis going for you, then you can enjoy consciously entering a lucid dream. The only downside is that people who have sleep paralysis quite often have the accompanying and very terrifying hallucinations of the "old hag" and "dark figure"

Edit: Upon looking at your link, people may experience brief sleep paralysis using that method too. I wouldn't chance it

Once in a lucid dream the images are under your control from what I understand. You could have hot wimenz if that was your goal.

Under sleep paralysis hallucinations (not always present with sleep paralysis) your eyes are open and the nightmare merges with your waking vision. Imagine having your eyes open, unable to move, and you sense something in your room moving around. Quite often people experience it (the dark figure or hag/witch) "sitting" on their chest and choking them. Eyes open and remembering every detail :Q.

What's your technique? I don't do drugs so lucid dreaming is as close to a trip as I can take :p

Reading the description, I've done that a lot. I can produce INCREDIBLY realistic images and sounds, and while I don't always have total control over what I'm shown or what I hear, I can usually manipulate it succesfully. When it happens, I know my eyes are closed, which gives the feeling that my eyelids are transparent, because the images are so vivid that it feels 100% authentic.

Lately I've been trying to conjur visions of complex texted objects, like pages of a book or a computer screen. I can make words, many at a time, and make them perfectly readable, but they rarely make sense, and a few words will repeat themselves numerous times throughout the image.

They mentioned the feeling of "falling through the bed", but I've never had that. Unless they're refering to the lurching feeling when a kind of faux depth-perception kicks in and you seem to fall towards or fly away from whatever you're hallucinating. That's a pretty crazy feeling, and it does feel like falling, but not through the bed.

It's hard to experience this for any good length of time, because full REM tends to kick in shortly after.

I've experienced sleep paralysis before - it's very unsettling. I lucid dream every once in a while, only when I'm napping with the lights on. I haven't ever done it in the dark before.

Did you have hallucinations with the sleep paralysis ?

I'm pretty sure I've experienced the oncomings of WILD before. While dozing off, sometimes I feel like I'm suddenly falling. I always react by jerking myself awake. Never knew what that was until now. Next time I'll try to control myself so I actually enter the state.

How do you know if you are lucid dreaming or are just still slightly awake and letting your imagination take over?

No thanks, I have sleep walking episodes. Scares me and my friends too much to try messing with sleep stuff.

I've initiated lucid dreams before, although usually when they happen its on the tail end of my sleep. Fun stuff!
