PC, just grab whatever i5 4xxx or 6xxx is cheapest, stick on whatever compatible mobo, add 8 or 16gb of ram, and find a good video card. 4K would be nice, but, even at 1080p, it would still look decent enough.

Ok on a long enough timescale Fallout 4 will eventually go for five bucks on sale, but I doubt that will happen for a couple years. By the time it does happen the goty will probably be out, and that will go for retail price for a while as well. If you buy it bundled with a console you can get it for less, but if you already have a console that doesn't help much. Unless you're willing to be this guy, just get it now.

Right.

Steam had FO:NV on sale for something like $10, about 3? months after release during the XMas sale. FO3 had already been out for 2? years at that point, and I don't think I ever saw the vanilla version drop below $30 or $20 until 5 or so years after it released--in fact, I think I finally picked up FO3 GoTY a year ago for $10 on steam? Maybe I missed some earlier sales...but even among other Bethesda games, it was on sale the least, and never as deep a discount as others it seems.

Could be an Obsidian (FO:NV) vs Bethesda thing, but it could also be the general popularity. Skyrim spent more than a year with a pretty lofty on-sale price as people just kept buying it.

Where's the wrong forum option?

He would have gotten an infraction for cross posting in console gaming and PC gaming. He would have gotten a ban for necroing a thread in OT that compared the dirty consoles to pcmr.

I would have went with OP's route, even if it meant getting called out by a pretty infamous troll such as yourself. Surprised you have so much Nik'ing to do with your illustrious job at Google.

i voted for all 4 options because i could, and because they are all true

Yeah, because owning one game on three different platforms to the tune of over $200 is totally not being a man child. Use the logic.

Can you mouse/keyboard on PS4?
I will never play a FPS without mouse/keyboard.

Since it's not a console exclusive, I default to recommending PC. Better visuals, faster loading time, mods, choice of input device, screenshots & capture, no ghetto interface.

I caved in and finally picked up a PS4 for $265 from a post from SD Monday:

There is also a B2G1 on video games at Target. Ended up picking up FO4, Destiny, and Batman for $108.

lol damn you, I'm out $257 now....but I have a PS4.

I am tempted to go for the b2g1 deal but I think I'll prefer playing FO4 on PC. I'm not sure what games I should be looking at that are worth getting now (vs just playing through the Uncharted bundle and then buying shit cheaper later).

Indeed, but for the price conscious a properly configured budget pc offers a better gaming experience at around the same price. For me that means that whether you're prioritizing budget or performance, PC is the correct answer.

Ehhhh I just paid less for a PS4 than I paid for my video card less than a year ago. Granted, it was an absurdly good deal on the console (and my PC can play a fair amount of games at 4k), but IMO the biggest price difference ends up coming from games.

There is a digital download of "The Last of Us" for $13 which is an excellent game if you like survival horror. Its from the same team that made Uncharted. If you're a fan of UC, you should definitely enjoy TLoU.

I didn't realize it was that cheap! I'll have to go find it - thanks!
