Unfortunately, the USA did not enter the war as a third side. It was a perfect opportunity to obliterate and reform the cultural traits of those governments and societies. Look what happened afterwards - they went straight back to colonialism with situations such as the Suez Canal issue.

Imagine what would have happened if the monarchy was deposed and tarred & feathered and an American flag was flying over Buckingham Palace. We could have freed the vast majority of the world, but we took the easy way out.

Oh, and on topic, this war will _never_ happen. They no longer have the capability to sink our ships. Plus I don't see their legal point. Argentinians didn't discover, claim, or originally inhabit the islands. They aren't within Argentine territory by any stretch of international law. They're hundreds of miles away in the middle of the ocean. Also - something which has not yet been mentioned - the oil rights are currently split equally between Argentina and the UK. By denying the British rigs access they break their own treaty.

I agree fully, it was an all out war in wich all allies fought side by side and died side by side regardless of nationality but my response was to someone who said that the US entered the war to save the UK which is definently not true since the US wouldn't have entered the war at all if they had not been forced to do so by being attacked and declared war upon.

So i gave my response to that, in no way do i wish to diminish the efforts of US military.

The truth is, the US didn't save anyone from the Nazis, we'd win that war anyway but most of western Europe would have been Russian territory to this day. The UK would have had to be cleansed from every Englishman at the time for any other nation to take it over, ask anyone of that generation and they'll tell you all about that.
