My sister in law is a certified ASL interpreter and was just appalled at what this guy did.

Looks like he trolled probably one of the biggest events of the year.

the guy didn't actually sign anything coherent, right?

I'm sorry to do this. But I've reported each of you in to our PC-Diversity Committee.

Its obvious that this person is not a Troll or a Fake.

Don't you understand the damage that you are doing to his self-esteem by calling him names?

He is sick. He is a victim!

And we will be raising your taxes to pay for his disability.

You can expect to be contacted by the committee soon. With a properly repentant attitude, you can hope to get off with a punishment of taking our new online diversity course.

Best of luck.

Even then someone with some common sense should figure it out. He does like maybe a dozen signs. how the fuck can he interpret what POLITICIANS are saying in 12 signs?

Maybe he's interpreting the meaning of their words. how many signs would you really need for that? One sign for vague rhetoric, another for self-aggrandizement, another for terrorists, maybe another for a wink and a nod to your campaign donors. I'd bet that you could cover most political speeches with under 12 signs.

One news agency (WaPo?) had an article noting that fake sign language interpreters is actually a national problem in South Africa. People learn one or two dozen signs, enough to fool someone who doesn't know any sign language, and then pass themselves off as legitimate interpreters.

Based on the interviews with deaf groups and other interpreters it sounds more like nepotism. He's probably related to a high ranking politician.

If he's trolling, he's probably just signing the phrase, "Bro.. Do you even lift..????"

This is a colloquial sign language dialect learned from repeatedly watching Jerry Springer. The r-rated gestures have been edited out.

Apparently this guy is prone to violence when he has an "attack".

The SS let this guy be within 3 feet of the president?

Wow....

I always stumble when I see SS used for Secret Service. Not entirely inappropriate though.

Not only that, there was no working metal detector at the stadium, most people weren't check for weapons when they entered the stadium. Some terrorist groups or crazy person will take notice of that for future planning. Next time, send the Vice President, his job is to attend funerals.

This wasn't a funeral, it was a party.

i prefer the term "celebration of life"

of course in my will, i am going to require the obituary call my funeral a "ritual carcass burning" because of all the lulz i can get posthumously

I wonder if obama got a picture of mandela with his cell phone. Maybe even a selfie with both of them in the picture?
