Boo f'ing hoo. Your stupid little bullhorn isn't going to do anything but make it easier for the bulldozer driver to find you and flatten your hippie ass. Go back to Seattle and protest Starbuck's some more.

Holy crap. It breaks my heart that someone had to die, but Jesus. Just get out of the way. Sure, to her, it may have been worth dying for, but basically committing suicide was punishment to her family and people that cared about her. I'm not saying she deserved to die or anything but damn hippies have some seriously twisted priorities (a strange Palestinian family > your own family)

I think that's called selflessness? And let's not forget that, at this point, (a strange Iraqi family > a poor American family)

I?m not at all shock to hear ignorant & insensitive people here are, because they eat up every word that the spin doctor fed to them.

It is quite difficult to miss someone with a microphone and orange/red jacket that is standing on your path. The driver must be psychopath to just drive over a human being with his bulldozer knowing fully that he will cause serious damage/death to the person in it path. What he should have done is to call the police and let them deal with the situation not taking it on his hand. What worst is to have insensitive ignoramus from their arm chairs condone the murder of another human being (it is just wrong killing some one even if the bulldozing of home is legal).

It is strange how American praise the Chinese student in Tiananmen square that stop the tank column by standing in its path, and then to call another stupid for trying to stop the destruction of homes by standing in front of a bulldozer.

yup...

if you look closely, you'll see that they're actually mounted on the arms of the bulldozer, and it was slightly lifted in the second pic so it the lights are higher

Please take your pacifist, apologist, left wing hippie ramblings somewhere else. If I was there I would have succeeded in running them both over.

And before you think you found something clever to say- NO, I would not stand in front of a bulldozer. That's just stupid.

These apologist people crack me up. They'll be on the side of the underdog no matter what the circumstances, even if the underdog was a terrorist trying to kill people.

Wake up people, a time DOES come when you have to kill your enemies. Flowers and hugs WON'T do the job!

The shadows do sort of look fake but i dont think thats what makes it look fake. the people in the picture look WAY too calm in a situation like that.

well at least the guy does anyway.

what do you mean marshal??? you wouldnt stand in the way of something that could run you over and not even notice it??? if you want to stop them from smashing peoples homes, tell them to stop blowing up innocent people...unless you think that getting squished will prove some kind of point

"In the instance pictured, the bulldozer did not stop and Rachel was pinned between the scooped earth and the fence behind her. On this occasion, the driver stopped before seriously injuring her"

So let me get this straight... she got knocked down by the bulldozer once, and she didn't learn, then she messed with it again and got killed?

Didn't she learn the first time?!!

I'm sorry, but I don't think we have a tragedy here, I think we have a Darwin Award Nominee.

It's shame seeing anyone die, but when someone has to go *out of their way* to get killed, that takes some of the sadness out of it. She got pinned by the bulldozer once and got away, then comes back and gets pinned yet again and dies.

The place is a war zone, and sniper-infested at that.

It's not downtown Seattle.

Looking at the pics, I really do feel bad for her as a human being, but she did kind of bring it on herself. I hate seeing anyone in that condition, it makes me feel bad. But knowing that she threw common sense out the window and challenged a bulldozer doesn't make any sense.

What you are saying is that the person with power can do what ever they want. It is wise to rethink your stand, because the Palestinian is still standing up to the much more powerful Jewish force. And, you are enjoying your freedom because your forefather fought others that wanted to enslave you.

Thankfully we still have some kind of democracy in North America, where the little guys vote still count. If we have it your way then the corporations would tell we all how to live. Today the Union is almost what you call racketeering, but thanks to the once was labeled lazy (hippies) that you are now have a home and is not working for peanut.

It still doesn't make the murder any less a crime.

Even though I am oftem a big defender of Isreal, I have a real problem with their form of justice that involves the leveling of the houses of relatives of terrorists. As it goes it wouldn't be tolerated under US justice norms.

You cannot lower your morals when fighting people with no morals.

I agree with much of what you said. But even so, she shouldn't have stood in front of the bulldozer when it came towards her. I am not criticizing her decision to voice her opinion against what the bulldozer was doing, but standing in front of a powerful machine is just stupid. Machines should be treated with respect, and the immediate danger of being injured by the machine should override your political views for the time being.

On the contrary, if you fought a battle with morals while your opponent fought with no morals, you'd be fighting a losing battle.
