Question Fake HyperX RAM?

So I just bought a new HyperX DDR3 RAM, but I'm wondering if it's fake.

I don't see any "part number" in CPU-Z, and the serial number looks invalid: https://prnt.sc/vnvt9g

I ran it on memtest86, but it didn't find any error (except a note which says: "RAM may be vulnerable to high frequency row hammer bit flips")

I have two pairs of HyperX RAM in my computer (DDR3 era). One pair (2015) has info in the 'SPD Ext.' box, XMP info. Both pairs have part and serial information, and the serial doesn't in any way look like what's in your screenshot.

How do the modules themselves physically look, out of curiosity? Where did you get them from?

But as you can see, the revision number on the case <https://prnt.sc/vo1yds> (9905402-656.A0ILF) is different from the revision number on the product itself <https://prnt.sc/vo1ypd> (99P5471-016.AOOLF)

I bought it from a seller in China.

There's a lot of sellers in China; some legit, and some.......not so legit. 😉

If they are a legitimate company, contact their customer service. If not, you might have to find out from Kingston if it's even a legit product.

I can almost guarantee it's "FAKE LABEL" RAM if it's from a China-seller.
