fake friend?

What would you do if you found out a close friend of yours,
someone you've been friends with your whole life, and grew up with was talking shiite about you behind your back?

what happen with me is that theres this one friend
we havent hung out much in the past months as we did before
and I've already approached him about it, and he denied saying anything.

But I still hear from other people, numerous people who I know for a fact are not making it up.
I don't wanna blow their spots either, and show that I found out from them..
and I don't wanna handle it in a way that will kill our relationship completely.

Yea its sounds kinda gay,
but its not your average friend.. someone I've known since we were litte.
Its not that easy to bring your anger out and dead someone like that.

Friendships are reciprocal. If he isn't making the effort to be your friend, forget about him.

are the things he said about you true? I have a friend I talk about behind his back and to his face. It's because he's a liar. He makes up the stupidest things. and he does things that piss me off. I tell him but he doesn't change, so i just rag on him now. not all the time, but when it is appropriate.
