Clearly we should all be accepting of your gay lifestyle that you have to tell everyone about but you can't be accepting of another person's belief in God.

Now things should heat up...🙁

how much more faith do you need than the people on Hot Deals forum that place an order for 10 top of the line computers and use a dozen Rossman's coupons plus a price match to get them down to 100 bucks a piece...

if you ain't got faith when you hit that final checkout button brother then man i dont know what you got

😕

You shouldn't have to accept an innate characteristic to a person.

You can accept and disagree with someone's religious beliefs at the same time.

How does posting on an internet forum = shoving it down peoples' throats?

Oh, innate? While I believe you are born gay or not, there seems to be a fair number of people claiming it's a lifestyle choice and some that are trying to 'convert' others.

Yes, you can accept and disagree at the same time. That's my point. Ryan did neither. He attacked.

It doesn't. Anyone could choose to read or ignore this thread. This is ATOT. There's absolutely nothing wrong with shoving Atheism down people's throats. That's applauded. Don't you dare mention your belief in God, though... then you're free game.

Everyone knows it's ok to bash Christianity on these forums. Don't dare bash any minority or other religion, though.

Science is king. We live by our senses, what we can see, hear, touch, feel. There seems to be no room for anything else.

There is a message of hope right underneath our very noses....it been around since the beginning of time, unchanging, steadfast. For those of you that long for something more, that know deep down inside there has to be a reason for all of this....there is

His name is Jesus Christ. Seek Him out.

Jesus has been around since the beginning of time? News to me 🙂

In any case, Faith is nothing more than a short circuit, an alleged shortcut to knowledge that accomplishes nothing better than to destroy the ability of a mind to REASON.

It's so easy to bash because most of the followers don't practice what they preach.. makes it a pretty easy target.

In my opinion this thread is hilarious as is any other discussion where people who have no way to prove anything either way argue about things no one knows or can change.

You should just cut your losses and accept that everyone belives in different things and move on, the result is always the same otherwise: pointless arguing.

I agree. If you read my posts, I'm almost never trying to 'convert' anyone. I post when someone states an incorrect belief or 'fact' about the Bible. The majority of people that post those things have never read the book and usually have no clue that they are ignorant and posting in ignorance. So, I try to post corrections as to what the book actually says. Not saying believe in it, just get it right if you are going to debate it.

Seeking (Jesus.Christ)...

Error reading cross linked junction at sector 34601 operation terminated.

By the way, secular internet forums probably aren't the best place to proselytize people. More than likely, you just added to reasons for non-Christians to hate Christians. In your head, you may think you just did a good thing, but in reality, you probably just wanted the last say in the matter of Creationism vs. Evolution thread.

Honestly did you really pray about it before you posted this thread? Did you really want to tell someone about Jesus, or is this a way of judging other people, who aren't Christian BTW? You P&N, and Religious people sometimes are so annoying because it isn't a matter of actually telling someone about Jesus. It is a matter of you being right and others being wrong, otherwise you wouldn't post the thread in such a reproachful tone.

In a few years, some of these youngsters may realize that not everything can be explained by what we observe. And when that happens, I hope there will be someone there, but until then, let them have there say, so maybe they will be able to entrust you or someone like you to hear them out. Instead of them of thinking about post or discussions like this and just shuddering at the thought of trusting someone like you with their questions. Just FYI.

Harsh, but oh well.

Is that really what you got out of my post? I said I USUALLY post to specify corrections in misconceptions about the Bible. I'm not telling people, "Believe in God, Believe in Jesus." I'm saying, "no, that book does not say that. It says this." It is their choice whether they want to believe in the writings of that book or not. I'm simply telling people what it says when it is misquoted or something comes way out of left field.

I took it to mean he tries to correct innacuracies, not to tell people what to believe.

BTW CorporateRecreation, anecdoctal evidence saying Christians are flawed is wrong logic. I can show you just as many great Christians who do practice what they preach. The Bible even supports the idea that "all men (even Christian), have sinned and fall short of the Glory of G-d". If you want to ignore Christianity, ignore it for its beliefs, not for casual examples.

And to DAGTA, it is because as Christians, we are held at a higher principle by non-Christians. So, if a non-Christian resorted to bashing Christians, that gives us a right to bash them...? NO! Your reasoning is flawed. If someone "sins" by slandering, does it give Christians the right to slander back?

Give me a break  The Bible even warns us that we should expect persecution. Was it a surprise that people hate Christians? Especially hypocritical ones. Dang dude. Give it a rest. If you really want to help out non-believers, then you wouldn't FLAME them.

John 1.

Postulates:
1) I'm not angry.
2) No hatred.
3) I'm a Christian, so there's no trust issue.

Data:
1) All that results is more of what you are "deeply saddened by," and that's people engaging in more "faith bashing."
2) You didn't mean to give this impression, but when people read religious stuff, they insert their own tones into it. These tones will be condemning, self-righteous, condescending, or whatever their mothers or pastors or priests-who-abused-them-when they-were-kids sounded like when they used similar words. They're taking out their anger on all of the negative examples that they've seen because they've already chosen to reject your message.

Conclusion:
1) This thread is no different from all the other Christianity threads. It will go nowhere. Sorry.
