They're always looking for ways to take ridiculousness to the next level. Saw this over the weekend:

(I'm aware this item is not deep fried, contrary to the thread title)

Americans love to eat. They are fatally attracted to the slow-death of fast food. Hot dogs, corn dogs, triple bacon cheeseburgers, deep-fried, butter-dipped in pork fat and cheesewhiz, mayonnaise soaked barbecue, mozzarella patty melts. Americans will eat anything. Anything. Anything.
Shit, if you were selling sautéed raccoons assholes on a stick, Americans would buy them and eat them! Especially if you were to dip them in butter and put a little salsa on them! This country is big-time pig time. Forget the Star-Spangled Banner. You know what the national anthem of this country outta be? The Oscar-Meyer Commercial Jingle! And while we're at it, change the bald eagle to a big bowl of macaroni and cheese. A BIG BOWL. Cause everything in this country is king size, extra large and SUPER JUMBO.

But, if the did deep fry that!

And, America isn't the only place with extremely unhealthy food.

Items like those in the OP aren't "Eating Habits"... they are "Eating Novelties"

Nobody, and I repeat NOBODY is making it a habitof eating a Kripsy Kreme Triple Decker hamburger. Are they buying ONE at the local fair MAYBE once a year as a novelty item to say they did it and share it among friends? Of course. We all do stupid things once in a while to say we did it and have some fun with it.

How frequent does something have to occur before it is a habit? Couldn't it be a habit that once a year, at the regularly scheduled weekend the state fair is in town, I eat a Krispy Kreme Triple Decker hamburger? Not that I ever would each such an unholy beast (mostly because Krispy Kreme are awful, as far as donuts, and I don't particularly enjoy sweet things), but if I did once a year, wouldn't it be a habit?

I eat a lot of high octane crap, but imagining eating that doughnut burger is making me a little nauseous.

The food artist on that shot should be fired. They obviously used cooked then cooled patties to ensure that the doughnut glaze didn't melt, but then they made no attempt to make the cheese look melted, or even warm.

Those patties look cooked to you?

a lot of those people were already 40+.

Were they eating the salads? And clogged arteries are a ticking time bomb. I'm fixing to eat a delicious salad with a bunch of stuff, including advacado, and half a turkey pepperoni pizza, in fact.

Nah, it's like eating waffles & bacon. It works.

Plus, warm Krispy Kreme donuts are softer than croissants.

Came in looking for a discussion of deep fried candy bars and found a discussion of the Luther Burger.

I guess you guys wouldn't eat a Hamdog, either.

Die, puritans! Nothing beats fried dough covered in sugar. And I'll take two triple cheesebugers and a deep-fried banana please.

A big reason being you can't find items like this for sale outside of the county fair, which is only once a year. Chicken Charlie's, the ones who make this and deep fry about everything is the main attraction at the LA/OC/Del Mar Fair. They're going to be opening a full regular restaurant in 2015 in San Diego. I will bet money it will be a hit. I would eat Charlie's deep fried ribs at least once a month if I was able to. Once their restaurant opens I'll probably be doing so.

I would eat a Bacon Luther for lunch today, but there's nowhere I know of that makes them outside of the fair :(
