they showed the goats that do this on the smoking gun presents...

there are rednecks who actually have 'fainting goat' competitions where they all go and display their fainting goats. it is fucking odd.

they also say it doesn't hurt the goats, but who the hell knows for sure.

From what I read, it makes the goats stronger. Dr. Pizza could probably confirm, but I think the tensing of the muscles gives them a workout.

I love the look on the black cats face everytime it faints. He has this look of "God Damnit, not again, this is getting really old".

So we are to believe. And, as they get older, they learn to not be off balance. The older ones stiffen up completely, but never seem to be caught off-guard - where they end up tipping over.

This can't be a positive trait for natural selection.

I'd always heard that some farmers will put a fainting goat in a field basically as a way to detour a predator.. I.E. coyote gets in, chases a flock, one goat faints and gets eaten to save the rest

Saw this on reddit. It is hilarious and cute to watch...but then you consider what the cat is actually going through and it's really quite sad. 🙁

F*** first that headless dow and now this

BTW if remaining one survives (comments on video say one has died already), it will learn how to cope with this as older goats do.

Okay, decided I want to replace a few of the cats around the house with fainting cats. But first, I've gotta toss up a Craigslist ad and get rid of a half dozen cats. Anyone want a kitten? Their Cuuuuuu-uuuute. Super-fuzzy!

I like cute super fuzzy cats, but I already have 2. That's one more than I ever thought I wanted, but it's turned out to be a good amount. They can keep each other company when I'm not home.

Ours serve as play toys for our littlest dog when we're not home. (And sometimes when we are home.)
