Good game but they really blew it on the replay of the onside kick. Someone should catch some flack over this one.

It was a close call....coulda gone either way. Replays weren't conclusive one way or the other.

There's a crap ton of Sooner fans who would disagree with you.
I haven't seen the actual play, but looking at the photos it seemed like a bad call.

The player on the OU team was standing 10 yards and jumped straight up to get the ball. Look at the video again.

Who kicked? Green (I didn't follow OU...was too busy with OSU, FSU, ND, etc) or OU? If OU kicked, then i'd call that a legit kick.

I didn't see the game either, but from the sequence of pictures, it looks like Oregon was kicking and Oklahoma was receiving. I too don't quite get the problem as it looks like #4 is standing on the line representing 10 yards from the line from which the ball was kicked. What happened after these pictures?

Yes, Oregon (green jerseys) onside kicked to OU (white jerseys). OU Player #4 jumps straight up to retrieve the ball. A player on Oregon also jumps up and the ball looks like it hits the Oregon player. The refs ruled that the OU player touched it first.Originally posted by: chambersc

Yeah, but the rule states that an opposing player can not touch the ball for 10 yards. Those are misleading because he jumps straight up, but the ball isn't there
Pic One
Pic Two (which I think surely shows he's before the 35-yard line)

I think Oregon shouldn't play Oklahoma for the sheer fact that using "OU" becomes confusing.
Anyhow, as a starting point to another thread about this, someone ought to dig up the NCAA rule book and say verbatim what the rule is.

good... now they need to suspend the refs from the LSU vs. Auburn game for the rest of the damn season if not straight up fire them
