Good game but they really blew it on the replay of the onside kick. Someone should catch some flack over this one.

I haven't seen the actual play, but looking at the photos it seemed like a bad call.

I haven't seen the actual play, but looking at the photos it seemed like a bad call.

The refs screwed it up cause they said that Oklahoma touched the ball first. This was not the case. Instead, I think that the ball did indeed travel 10 yards before it was touched. Once again, video evidence is not conclusive on that.

I didn't see the game either, but from the sequence of pictures, it looks like Oregon was kicking and Oklahoma was receiving. I too don't quite get the problem as it looks like #4 is standing on the line representing 10 yards from the line from which the ball was kicked. What happened after these pictures?

Yes, Oregon (green jerseys) onside kicked to OU (white jerseys). OU Player #4 jumps straight up to retrieve the ball. A player on Oregon also jumps up and the ball looks like it hits the Oregon player. The refs ruled that the OU player touched it first.

Yeah, but the rule states that an opposing player can not touch the ball for 10 yards. Those are misleading because he jumps straight up, but the ball isn't there

It doesn't matter where he is. It matters where the ball is. He reaches forward for the ball, so even if he's behind the 35 yards line, the ball might not be.

SEC officials released a statement that the refs made the right calls in the Auburn/LSU game.

LSU lost, it was a good game(probably the best I've seen in quite some time), the Bayou Bengals will have a good season, get over it.
