Failure of replay in NCAA football..

Good game but they really blew it on the replay of the onside kick. Someone should catch some flack over this one.

There's a crap ton of Sooner fans who would disagree with you.

I haven't seen the actual play, but looking at the photos it seemed like a bad call.

The refs screwed it up cause they said that Oklahoma touched the ball first. This was not the case. Instead, I think that the ball did indeed travel 10 yards before it was touched. Once again, video evidence is not conclusive on that.

Here is how it works.

Refs make calls, and what they say is what happened. If you can't accept this, you don't understand sports.

yeah, with like 5 games going on at any time, just because I'm not watching the one you are...you fail.

Only one game deserved a thread with this title. It was one of the games between two ranked teams. Once again, you fail at following college football.

Look at player #4 on OU.

I haven't seen the OU game. What's going on in this picture. If that line is 10 yards away, then he's 10 yards away. I don't get it.

Who kicked? Green (I didn't follow OU...was too busy with OSU, FSU, ND, etc) or OU? If OU kicked, then i'd call that a legit kick.

I didn't see the game either, but from the sequence of pictures, it looks like Oregon was kicking and Oklahoma was receiving. I too don't quite get the problem as it looks like #4 is standing on the line representing 10 yards from the line from which the ball was kicked. What happened after these pictures?

Yes, Oregon (green jerseys) onside kicked to OU (white jerseys). OU Player #4 jumps straight up to retrieve the ball. A player on Oregon also jumps up and the ball looks like it hits the Oregon player. The refs ruled that the OU player touched it first.

Yeah, but the rule states that an opposing player can not touch the ball for 10 yards. Those are misleading because he jumps straight up, but the ball isn't there

Pic One
Pic Two (which I think surely shows he's before the 35-yard line)

It doesn't matter where he is. It matters where the ball is. He reaches forward for the ball, so even if he's behind the 35 yards line, the ball might not be.

I think Oregon shouldn't play Oklahoma for the sheer fact that using "OU" becomes confusing.

Anyhow, as a starting point to another thread about this, someone ought to dig up the NCAA rule book and say verbatim what the rule is.

Enough said....Text

good... now they need to suspend the refs from the LSU vs. Auburn game for the rest of the damn season if not straight up fire them

SEC officials released a statement that the refs made the right calls in the Auburn/LSU game.

LSU lost, it was a good game(probably the best I've seen in quite some time), the Bayou Bengals will have a good season, get over it.
