failed mother board

I purchased a new APC backup power supply for my home gaming system. I attached this power supply to my system and turned it on (not reading the instructions "for charging the power supply for 8 hours FIRST") My system came up but failed during Boot. Being stupid I kept trying... System then failed. I checked the processor and ram on another mother board and they work, which leaves me with a failed mother board. I have ordered another mother board to replace it. MY QUESTION IS: is it possible to repair this mother board, ABIT IC-7G? 🙁

It's usually not possible for end-users to repair a MB. Why not RMA? Or is it out of warranty? Are you sure it is dead? Have you tried running it without plugging into the UPS? Did you try to reset the CMOS and leaving the ATX Power connector unplugged from the MB for a few minutes? Did you try a different Power Supply as it's possible that if something did go south, it might have been the PS and not the MB.

I don't think an uncharged APC unit could hurt your system. At worst it wouldn't work if the power went off and maybe you would damage the battery in it, but your system should be fine if you disconnect the APC.
