I guess he couldn't resist. From what I remember he was warned a short while ago to stop with the fake ghetto talk or he'll be banned.

kinda want to try a mclean deluxe just to experience a seaweed burger.
ah well..

i do remember mc arch though. it was ok, but it didn't really match the mcdonalds experience, you don't go there to get a small healthy burger. i mean the grilled chicken was ok, but i didn't really like those odd buns they used either.

i'm glad those bagels are gone. i didn't feel so good after eating those in the morning.

I too quite liked their Pizza. Kinda remnded me of the Wood Oven Pizza some more upscale Restaurants sometimes use.

This thread has inspired me. I worked at McD in high school when the Arch Deluxe was released and really liked it.

When grocery shopping this weekend I picked up some Grey Poupon coarse ground mustard and hickory smoked bacon. Will make an Arch Deluxe at home tonight and see if it's as good as I remember.

Good chance it was not a McLean.

I think another major reason they got rid of it was due to many places just serving regular 1/4 pounder meat. A lot of people said it was great and could not tell the differance. So a lot of news outlets did stories and most said it was about 50-50 chance of getting a REAL McLean burger.

The Arch Deluxe was pretty good; unfortunately it didn't sell well until they ditched the mustard sauce and gave it a more "street friendly" name (Big N' Tasty). I think after that McDonald's sort of gave up on the affluent diner.

I think that one tanked because it used like twice as much styrofoam. That was back when people cared about styrofoam containers. I've noticed they're back in, as the eco crowd has moved on to other things, like cars.

They are? I haven't seen them at any fast food joints... seen some cardboard ones that are similar to the old styrofoam ones, but that's it.

I remember a couple of those sandwiches but I'm not sure I tried them.

What McDonald's needs to bring back, and permanently: That beef and cheddar on rye with grilled onions (so fucking good); buffalo wings with hot sauce! Man those were good.

I'm surprised the Big 'N Tasty didn't make the list. It's neither big nor tasty. Quite the misnomer.

Did any of you ever go to one of the "sit-down" McDonald's restaurants with menus and waiter service and whatnot?

Keep the hot side hot and the cool side cool.

Scary that I remember the tag line :)

Those things were freakin awesome! My very first job was at a McD's, and it was when the McDLT just came out. I never understood the 'keep the hot side hot and the cool side cool' because we just put them in the warming bins after they were made.........

Now that I'm on this tangent, you really don't hear those jerks talk about the rain forest being cut down anymore, huh? As far as I can tell, that hasn't stopped, they've just moved on?
Good questions. Why don't you do some research and make a thread about it. If anybody is practicing faddish eco, then it should be exposed.

I have wondered about the logging of the rain forests in south america. I remember the subject in a couple of movies.

Texans (in general) like mustard on their hamburgers.
In fact I remember the Mc D's I worked at had a McTexas burger, same as the Arch Deluxe but had a pepper mustard on it instead of the Dijon mayo.

I miss the steak and cheese bagels they had for breakfast as well. Haven't seen those in a long time.

It is the Texas Homestyle burger. Same as the Big 'n tasty but with that pepper mustard

Edit: Oops, didn't read "same as the Arch Deluxe"

You are right I had the name wrong. I try to block the horribleness of working there from my memories.

Yeah I also worked at McD when the Arch came out. All we could think was "wonder how long this is going to last".

The buns made for some tasty alternate sandwiches though.

i loved fast food when iwas a kid, but won't touch it for about 15 years.

I saw this in a McD's in Quebec about 10 years ago; it's called the "McHomard" ("McLobster").

Arch Deluxe was good back in the day. But yea, I haven't eaten a fast food burger in years, and I don't think I will again.

The entire McDonald's menu tanks. Have you eaten there recently? have you tried the "food"? Have you ever worked at a McDonald's? Have you ever seen what goes on in the "back"?

Yum ...
