With Google entering the scene, at over 3,000 wu's a week, the jump we would have taken over the next team happened, but when flew by us at light speed it knocked the rest of us back one notch! :(

On the brighter side, looks like we've scared the pants off Mod4Me :Q They've ramped their production up to stop us, we need...

more, more, more!! Let's go TeAm, lets see if we can't crank it up just a little and show them who's the best ! :D

Well, maybe some info on how long to complete a WU based on CPU/RAM type? Is there a benchmarking page anywhere?

And tips on speeding it up! I'm taking 24hrs or so on one unit (PIII-1.0GHz M with 384MB PC133 RAM). Is that about normal? This thing cranks SETI WUs at about 5hr avg which makes this my 2nd fastest PC. I'm wary of running anything slower for F@H.

conjur, to have a 24 hour long WU is not unusual...I've had ones that take almost 2 days on my 800mhz duron box here.

Thanks.

I'll have a dual XP1800+ crunching in a couple of days. Waiting on the 450W power supply

Conjor... we have done some benchmarking on F@H.... you can see some results on this Thread.

If we could all post some becjmarks then maybe we could come up with some kind of posting for new users etc....?

Ideas on F@H Team AnandTech Drive---> Cold Call, Direct Mail, TV Ads, Radio !!! Actually we should start dropping some postings on the race in other forums such as the OC and General Hardwar ones. They did this for the big SETI vs DSLR race and had a big response. Of course we would need Moderator approval :)

Anyone want to put together a catchy post to attract members to F@H ?

There are a total of 56 registered users with some duplicates (name changes). Out of those only 34 have produced any points for us in the past week.

Otay! I've just completed upgrading to winxp, with the fah ver 2.19, now I'll see if it's any improvement on speed.

Syntax, I'm compiling my stats from all 3 machines, I'll be doing the bb5_build_extORC protein first as that's the most common one my comps have been doing. Looking at my stats, it looks like the next one I'll do is the proteinAnat. Look for the bb5's tommorrow. I'm also hoping to upgrade my pll 266 to somekind of duron, depends on what I can afford, that should help me to crunch wu alittle faster :)

As for those double users, hehe, I'm one of them myself. Wish there was someway of getting rid of old stats, it's getting hard to tell the new people from the ones that haven't done anything in awhile. Maybe we could contact them and try and entice them into crunching for fah again??

^^bump^^

I have embarked on a new venture. I should have a dual-slot 1 AT board in the next couple of days, and a couple of Celeron 400's shortly thereafter. Some work with a solder iron, and a bit of OC'ing, and I'm hoping to have a dual Celeron 450 (900) running a 2.4.19-i686-SMP kernel, and crunching FAH. Probably won't quite match my dual P3-550, but it'll help.... (Of course, this is assuming I can solder worth a hoot.... :) )
