Hi:

I was reading the Folding threads on this site as well as the Folding-community.org forums yesterday so I thought I would share the stats for my Conroe-powered system that is running the FaH SMP client on Linux (FC6).

The CPU is a "Conroe" E6600. I am running Fedora Core 6 on that box with the FaH SMP folding client. The box does nothing but Fold.

The "frame" times are around 10 minutes, 31 seconds. The total time to process an SMP WU is a little over 17.5 hours. This machine can currently process and return 1.368 SMP WUs per day.

The power consumption of this system while Folding is 155 watts (measured with a Kill A Watt). Skipping the boring details of how much electricity costs during peak vs. off-peak, it is costing me exactly $2.50 per week to have this machine Folding 24 x 7.

The "top" command shows my CPU running about 7% to 8% idle when the SMP client is running. I hope that future versions of the SMP client will peg the CPU at 100% (which should give shorter round-trip times for the SMP WUs).

Congrats to GLeem for recently passing the million point mark. :)

Nice times on that computer :)

That must be why your points per day jumped so much

These SMP WUs are really helping to speed up the science - they have a short deadline (a couple days vs. a couple months for regular WUs) that keeps things moving along.

Thanks for all the information!
