Gave up on that Folding Control program as I don't think it was working right and it seemed slow.

Back to using the ol' CLI so we'll see what happens. 3 Frames folded so far on this WU.

I am not sure what the OS on that P4 is- I use mostly Windows 2000 Professional - but here is a system that works for me: Install a copy of the screen saver only version of FAH in the Windows system folder (e.g. C:\WINNT). Edit the registry to enable the screen saver when no one is logged in, and set the default user screen saver to FAH. For details on this see this.

Also, be sure to configure the software with your username and our team name. ;oP I didn't find instructions on that - in my case I simply ran the screen saver for a minute, then logged back in and edited the .cfg file. There may be another way.

In any case, all you have do then is convince the user to log off when they are not using the machine. (You may also need to explain that they need to click the mouse - not just move it - to stop the screen saver.) Voila! The computer is "yours" even without you having regular access to it. I have three machines at the office that I "confiscated" in this manner, and it works great. Since it only runs when they are not using the PC, it cannot in any way affect their "user experience." Of course, since I am the system administrator, they are inclined to do as I instruct as long as it doesn't inconvenience them. 😉 Still, it wasn't a hard sell.

If you are going to edit the .cfg file, change it so it says "userid=00" (without the quotes), so that stanford has to re-read the config and asign a new userid number. I am not 100% sure but I don't think stanford ever looks at anything except the userid number after it asigns one and they already have the name and team number associated with the old userid.
Anyway it doesn't hurt to be safe. 🙂
