I am planning to buy a used 08 used Altima with ~31k miles, standard warranty on them is 3 years 36k so will Nissan still honor the factory warranty can I take to any dealer and get it fixed (if needed). The carfax is clean and says single personal owner and then auction in Jan 10, no other report of accident or anything.
The dealer got it from auction and says it was a repo. Just wondering if there will be any issues with getting warranty honored getting extended (Nissan) warranty. Oh and its a hole in the wall user car dealership, couldn't find it in BBB database.

*Edit* - Asking price 14.5k, negotiation in progress.

Should still have the factory warranty, but I would suspect not for much longer. Being a 2008 model, it was probably sold between the middle and end of 2007. You only have 5k left in mileage anyway, so it is likely that would run out first.

If you know where the car was, you might be able to get a service record from the VIN from the applicable Nissan dealership.

To be sure, record the VIN and call Nissan and ask them. They will tell you if warranties are still applied to that car or not, also ask them if there are any outstanding recalls and TSBs on the car.

You can still purchase extended warranties for the car if you need, but I think it's better if you just spend a few hundred dollars and have a trusted mechanic check it out for you before purchasing.

Bumper to bumper is gone but you have factory power train left.

The only way to be absolutely sure is to call Nissan Warranty up with the VIN and have them run that VIN and ask if it still qualifies. I am 95% sure you will have no issues, but this is the way to be 100% sure.

BTW i was reading up on nissan certified today. Who are you buying this from? If a dealer can you ask them if they will make it jump through the hoops on nissan certified? Manufacturer certified warranties are nice IMO and it would be worth some extra cash for a nissan warranty.

Let it be said: /\/1554/\/ 43\/4.

That price seems good.
