The Joe Biden led negotiations had reached a point of 83% spending cuts, 17% revenue increases, with no tax rate increases, when Republicans walked out.
Nevermind, I found your lie. Ezra Klein, the defunct, discredited hyper-partisan idiot, is not necessarily a good source.
If you had a shred of intellectual honesty, you'd point out that the Democrats have only agreed to about $1,000 billion in spending cuts, but refuse to back down on $400 billion in tax revenue increases. That's more like 70-30 if you have trouble with math.
So in other words, you're a liar.
Democrats agreed to trillions in spending cuts over the next decade.
Another lie. Don't you ever get tired?
The real issue is that Republicans have no business threatening the credit of the US as they are doing.
So the Democrats, led by that definition of an incompetent fool named Biden, are given conditions for what will assuredly not pass the House, but they refuse to back down anyway... and the Republicans are to blame for being obstructionists.
Hey... if there's anything we learned from you during the last 4 years... if the minority party doesn't go along with whatever the majority proposes, they're obstructionists.
Should Obama threaten to nuke Texas if the Republicans don't give in to his demands? To audit all the Republicans' tax returns, to sic the NSA on them, to put them in jail?
If he started auditing tax returns, he wouldn't have much of an administration left, and you know it.
That sort of abuse of power is like what the Democrats are doing in threatening to not pay our bills. It's an irresponsible outrage not being called what it is in the media.
Agreed.
Most Democrats I'm hearing say Obama should not link any deficit reduction to the debt ceiling renewal and let Republicans either pay our bills, or choose to harm the country.
So in the very same post, you admit that the Democrats should use potential default to force their spending through congress, and blame Republicans if they refuse to bend over. The very same shit you literally *just* said is an outrage when Republicans are supposedly doing it.
God, you're such a laughable hack.
