I frequently use the facebook mail system instead... if you don't care about others seeing a quick comment you use the wall.

Don't have a data plan on cellphone, but I do like how it sends the wall message onto my phone so I can read and reply right there when someone is trying to get a plan organized.

Use facebook mobile. I'm using the old layout but go to Account -> Mobile tab. You activate it and if you have a data plan you can upload pictures, but go to your mobile settings and you can tell facebook to text you whenever you get pokes, messages, comments, wallposts, friend requests, and you can tell it to do whatever with them. Tell it how many texts you want sent to you daily or between what hours, whatever. Helped a ton when I was going for a looooong day trip.

I barely use walls - almost anything I'm saying over Facebook I'd rather stay private (dates/places, anything that could get me in trouble on a google search).

A friend of mine refuses to text or call anyone. Instead, he'll go on twitter. Example:

@georgepburdell @anotherguy @anotherguy2 any of you ppl online?

I have options like sending requests like "m", "info", etc. from my mobile. Facebook doesn't really describe it well. What do all the commands mean?

The wall is just for, happy birthdays, quick hellos, congrats, and a little teasing that you want other to see. Other than that I don't use the wall, except in reply to my own wall posts.

I think you reply saying those commands to get things like info from their profile, reply to message back or write on their wall, "m" though I have no idea.

i have facebook mobile as well, but if someone writes on my wall and i reply back to them through my phone, it goes to them as a facebook private message...is it supposed to do that?
