I have a life so neither. ;)

having social networking page and having a life are not mutually exclusive. I haven't logged into my myspace in months, but that cause i don't like it. I use my facebook once or twice a day to check up on RISK games. You can have a life and be on one of those.

No stereotypical nerd would be complete without arguing that he has a life because he keeps up with Risk game on MySpace. Well played sir!

I use social networking sites as an indicator of who not to take seriously. The more friends you have, the lower my estimate of your intelligence, integrity and, experience.

Yea, that's a great estimate of one's ability and worth as a person.

Like all generalities, there are exceptions. I have simply observed that the more time an individual spends on a social networking site, the less firm their grip on reality.

It was understanding that Newbian was arguing that you can't have a life because you live your life on one of these sites. My argument is that you can have a life AND have page on one the sites because you spend a grand total of 20 minutes A DAY on the site. Personally, I check the photo feed, the status feed, my wall, and my RISK games once when i wake up and once before I got to bed. I guess the 10 minutes in the morning and the 10 minutes at night that I "waste" on these sites means that I have no life, given in my original example hightlighting my RISK addiction was not the best of things.

Oh, did I mention I  RISK?

myspace has auto-music and allows eye-popping backgrounds integrated with bright obnoxious text... it's FTW... and when I say FTW I mean it blows.

facebook is where it's at.

as long as you add RL friends and not just every person you've ever come in contact with, then it works great. You actually see relevant stuff from them that you may be interested in... keeping in touch kinda things.

When I see someone has 500+ friends I'm thinking why don't they just keep myspace where they will at least say "thanks for the add".

I only have 9 right now -- and they are all my family, friends, or my fiance's relatives that I keep in touch with.

As far as I'm concerned, MySpace can burn in hell. I had one early on back in high school when it was "the thing" to have, but I got rid of quick. You can only take so much of the stupid bullshit, crappy music, and pages so obnoxious that you have a seizure just from looking at them.

Facebook

I still use MySpace some, but only for a few friends who don't use Facebook.

facebook because I don't need to disembowel myself after going there; I only need to roll my eyes a few times.
