Facebook trailing and found this pic

A friend of a friend started a FB page announcing her photography business. I was looking around at some of her shots and found this one.

What are your thoughts when you see this? Is it something you'd be interested in buying a print of or is it too strange/eerie? I have to admit it caught my eye... but it's too spooky for me.

She has the talent and eye, but she is relying far too much on messing with the orientation of the horizon, which shows she isn't quite comfortable or even aware of her natural eye for a photo.

Changing the orientation is a natural habit for some to try and "spice up" an image they don't think has enough flair on its own. Which is sad because that last image is absolutely amazing if he has the orientation correct.

Messing with the orientation is a fairly amateur act, though if she can recognize her own ability and move past it, she'd still have something to stand on in terms of photographic ability.

And I can only say that because her photos really, really remind me of my own photography. I like the unusual angles and drawing out the beauty in an otherwise drab environment.

Its creepy, but only because of the midget or child in the clown costume. Other than that, looks like the typical "artsy" (which means black and white, maybe a special color tone or oversaturation, or maybe they turn the camera a bit sideways...that tells us they're a serious artist and photographer) picture that isn't really interesting at all.

Serious question, does she happen to have a handicap, maybe one that prevents her from holding a camera upright?
serious answer, no, not that i know of.

i just picked a few pics out of hundreds. i guess they were ones that caught my eye. the majority of her pics are straight on.

Ok, just they were all tilted, so I was starting to wonder.

I'm not saying the pics are bad, but they have too much of the typical amateur's appeal to them.

You might recommend a gorillapod to them for some of their shots (like the one with the nail, I think would be better if they took a couple of moments to setup the camera better).

looks a little too washed out for my taste. The clown? is pretty damn creepy.

This. Exactly this. To a "T".

I'm no photography expert but I like to think I have an eye for photography. you can be your own judge by looking at my fav pics I've taken over the years here:

Don't hesitate to let me know what you think.

Anyways do you have a link to a site with more of her work? Based solely on those shots it's hard to say. And yeah the clown is creepy 🙂
