Facebook timeline...

Thoughts? Interesting, yes. Somewhat fun to mess around with. But.... do I really trust Facebook? I mean, I know I don't. But at the same time, what the hell does it matter if they see my random musings of the day, or if they know where I went on Vacation? Outside of advertising specific products to me, how can this really ever affect me in any negative way?

Now I still have some concerns about uploading my photo's to their site, but again.... I'm not uploading any embarrassing photo's or anything, so what really negative could happen? Even if that photo published to the entire internet, it's not the end of the world... is it?

Am I being to trusting AT?

I dunno. It's the best change they've made so far.

They've made the wall so disorganized and it would take extra clicks to find out information that used to be all on the main page. Now everything is back on the main page again.

Google+ Killer.

You're all a bunch of paranoid fucktards.

I don't like it. It makes shit very fucking confusing. For something based on time, it's not very linear at all. (Finally saw the god damn line in the middle of the page... I was wondering why the fuck there was two feeds at once)

This thing is terrible. It's laggy, slow, and didn't make information any easier to find. The original Facebook was the best interface.

Looks cool at first glance, but the new layout strikes me as having a bit of a steep learning curve for some. And god help you if you try to view someones entire timeline, Flash choked out my system faster than anything I've seen.

Also, it seems like a social engineer's wet dream; people documenting private events that can be used for devious intentions (Think about what your bank asks you to give as "secret answers"? Now look at what most people are going to post on their FB timeline). Granted Facebook is already littered with personal information but you shouldn't just lay the crap out there, let alone add stuff that may not be public knowledge, for any script kiddie to see when he installs a key logger on your system.

To sum up:

*I like the look, even if it takes a moment to find everything.
*Needs some tweaking in the performance section.
*The idea of putting your life on the web is idiotic.

...people are going to love it.

I don't like it, I went on the profile of someone who had that, and I found it difficult to understand, also it's cluttered.

not seeing this on my FB. Maybe you guys live in the future.

Seems like they're rolling it out in waves or something.

And yeah, while it looks cool and it does allow for more information to be shown per screen, it's slow as hell on any not-so-new computer and it's not very linear. I'm not a big fan.

Life events for instance. Do I really want to load on there when/where I went on my honeymoon, or when we moved to this city or that city?
I hope not. I post virtually nothing on facebook and nobody should post much of detail on there.

This.
The page reloads constantly, and any attempt to look at old news on the timeline also forces a page reload and bump to the top.

Useless. Of course.

Facebook doesn't give a shit about user input, they constantly make changes to things that aren't broken and don't address things that are.

Google+ is superior in every way as far as functionality goes, but nobody fucking uses it.

God damn it.

I like how they're this huge mainstream company but not afraid to take leaps like this. I like how I can see my updates from 2007. I have no problem with lag in Opera other than the usual AJAX loading.

I was reading on glassdoor.com about their work environment. It's a fun place but a hectic place with long hours, pretty much the same as M$ and I'm sure Google.

I started the 7 day "Trial" hated it and could not find a way to turn it off so I "deactivated" my account. I barely use it anyway so no real loss.

You have no problem with lag presumably because you're on a pretty decent computer.

For people who aren't, it performs REALLY poorly in comparison to how it was before. Yeah, you can say "They should get better computers then" but it's a social network used by all kinds of people, many of which don't have much reason to be on the cutting edge of technology.

As for the updates from a long time ago, they could have easily implemented that without doing a complete overhaul.
