Facebook public posts cannot be hidden

I recently re-visited my Facebook privacy settings and found that facebook had reset them so the world can view my profile (no surprise). So I went through the lengthy process of resetting everything to viewable only by friends. Fine.

I then went to view my public profile and found that there are public posts that cannot be removed. They can only be marked as spam. Ok - I marked them as such and reloaded my public profile and they were back again.

Does anyone know how to get rid of or hide public posts? Without completely deleting your entire account?

When you go to Privacy Settings, there is a section titled "Limit the Audience for Past Posts". Did you try clicking the link that says "Manage Past Post Visibility"? I've never had to use it, because facebook has never reset my privacy settings, so I don't know if it will actually do what you want it to, but it sure looks right to me.

I have also noticed from time to time fb changes privacy settings and I have to lock them down again. I post NOTHiNG private to fb. I trust them with nothing.

I don't even have an account on FB - never did. That's the best security policy when it comes to dealing with them.
