Facebook problem.

I know this is probably better suited for another sub forum but I wanted to try and get some quick help.

My wife started using facebook 2 weeks ago. When she connects to her page it shows the # of friends currently online in a small window on the bottom of the screen. If she clicks on the window (to show who they are, etc.) it then immediately says 0.
She looked in the help and it said to clear cookies/temp files/etc. but that didn't work.

I know nothing of facebook and have no knowledge as to what to try next. It has been doing this for about 5 or 6 days now.

Any ideas?

Which browser are you using? I noticed similar effects when I was using Firefox (3.1b2). I switched to Safari 4 beta when it was released and have noticed the online friends thing has been behaving properly.

she was using IE 7. One of the suggestions was to make sure you are running latest IE so she upgraded to 8. Problem was still there.

I don't know.

She was telling me about the problem earlier and when it suggested clearing cookies/etc. and upgrading IE and I walked her through it. Not long after that she went to bed. Figured I would ask here and if anyone had any suggestions I would get her to try in the AM.

There's nothing you can do. Its a bug in the fb chat. I get it all the time too, and it has nothing do with caching.

She should complain to FB.

thanks. I don't know anything about it. She said it worked fine the first week and now doesn't. I'll get her to email them.
