This is Android Police, so when they say it's not April Fool's I believe it.

It's a 4.3" 720p, which a lot of you have clamored for. But, you know, Facebook phone.

Also, the launcher seems to be designed for broader release later.

Facebook has an Android announcement soon, so that's probably what it is.

I don't know about yall, but but I have NO confidence in Facebook pulling this off. so far their mobile development outright sucks. Apple or even Amazon they are not.

Just think, this could be the first phone to have 2 hours of battery life because Facebook's developers couldn't figure out how to not have the launcher constantly syncing in the background! Maybe they've improved it since I last used it but this is the key reason I uninstalled the Android Facebook app way back when.

They can't even program a mobile app right.... I can't imagine what they would mess up if they tried making the whole phone facebook branded.

I'm sure it will still sell millions of units.

Agree with you buddy
They cant make an app right and so they have collaborated with Android to make their phones' OS. that is basically android but having Facebook integrated everywhere.

Yay, a phone that can update everyone with what you are doing more easily than before!

As long as my 8X continues to work just the same with Facebook, let them make it.

I'm surprised the phone has Google services(including Google+) installed as stock.

The new Facebook app has the follow extra Android permissions:
SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW - The Facebook app can spawn windows that stay on top of all other windows. According to the Android docs, "these windows are intended for system-level interaction with the user."
DISABLE_KEYGUARD - It can turn off your lock screen.
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED - Facebook starts as soon as your phone starts.
GET_TASKS - The Facebook app can see what apps you have currently running.
CHANGE_WIFI_STATE - It can control your WiFi connection
WRITE_SETTINGS - It can change your system settings
Yuck.

Why would you be surprised? No US carrier will sell a phone that DOESN'T have Google services. Plus, it's not as if Facebook would replace Gmail, Maps, or YouTube.
I expected Google+ not to be there in the first place and Google search to be replaced by Bing.
