Facebook passwords compromised.

Off the lulz security website:

In return for flooding /b/ this morning, have 62,000
passwords and emails. The top half is "password | email",
and the bottom half is "email | password"; these are random
assortments from a collection, so don't ask which site they're
from or how old they are, because we have no idea.
We also can't
confirm what percentage still work, but be creative or something.

Enjoy, and remeber: Lulz Security always delivers.

So... it's just a list of "passwords" attached to email address. Who knows if they are legit. My email isn't listed, so I'm good!

Your email not having been released doesn't mean they don't have it amongst a bigger sample than the 62k they published.

Checked. I'm not in there.

It looks mostly like noob email addresses. So, I don't think they actually "hacked" anyone.

This is part of why I enabled 2 factor auth for my Google account after the hacking of Sony.

Who knows how many accounts and passwords they really have, I've been looking to move to way more complex passwords too, but I am kinda lazy on that aspect.

That list does not have any of 6 names used with family.
Half of those use facebook and paypal.

someone in my vent apparently transferred 400 euros using those passwords and emails..so yeah

This is all the more reason to use an alternate email account for registration on sites, keep your real one confidential.

Assuming they are passwords and not a big list of words that the "hackers" made up.

Without knowing where they came from I call bullshit.

Could have came off from anywhere. Some random seller site, gaming, or forum that got compromised. If they had good reason they'd probably come for any of the tech sites, since they do it for the lolz.
