If you want to complain about the new layout, I'm pretty sure they've already heard that a lot of people are/were pissed

I'm also interested cause I'm pretty sure there are at least some people here that work for MS and Google, but never heard of any facebook employees.

If someone legitimately works for facebook I would really appreciate a PM - or even someone "in the know" who might be able to forward my current predicament. I'm currently looking for some part-time work in the tech field and I've already lost two potential interviews because someone created a fake facebook with my name and a picture of me taken many many years ago, probably gained from a friend. The profile is chock full of false information about me, my personal habits, and portrays me in a very unprofessional and negative light. The profile has not been accessed or updated since 2006, and numerous complaints to Facebook's feedback has netted me absolutely no assistance and/or responses whatsoever.

Really quite a heated issue for me at the moment. =/

Just change your name on your resume and go by that at your new job

In a field that requires background checks, credit checks, and often requires security clearance, this is 100% not an option.

That really got me thinking. I don't social network at all, but if potential employers facebooks my name and finds idiot, I wouldn't like it either.

Have you emailed them? I had a name-change issue where they disabled my profile and when I emailed they responded favorably within a few days.

YGMP with email address.

Ironically, shit like this is the reason I don't so social networking in the first place. Unfortunate that pre-emptive preventative measures mean nothing in the face of someone malicious enough to not care.

Facebook is not a very large company.

How do you know you lost the interviews because of the Facebook profile?

I've got a common name and found to be mixed up with profiles of others and found it easier just to create a few profiles under the email address on my resume so potential employers don't get confused or misdirected. I'd rather put a small amount of info out there about me that is true rather than leave it open and have them misinterpret any info found out there not about me.
