Now, I'm up to 1.5 miles a day brisk walking on the treadmill (mornings), some abd crunches, eat egg whites, grilled chicken, salads, yogurts, and drink 10-12 cups of H2O per day. Three weeks ago, I was a dr. pepperaholic, drinking a 6pack/day. Since starting this 3 weeks ago, I've noticed a big difference in the appearance of my face, legs, and waist. I haven't weiged but I figure I've lost at least 10 lbs. The first 3-4 days I really had to push myself into doing this but now, when I get up in the morning, exercising and eating right is all I want to do. I can't really do any weight training yet because of a shoulder injury from last year. But, as it gets better, I'm going to try and add some in to the program. It does take time. I figure it took me 10 years to look like I do now. It won't get better overnight.

With an attitude like that you will succeed.

McBuffet, LOL! I would love to see that. Someone should do it once, and take pictures of all the people that come rolling through the door to gorge themselves.

Man. Could you imagine it? McBuffet. People would be eating 3-10k calories per visit. All you can eat fries, double bacon cheeseburgers, etc.

Forget the buns! They just fill you up with bread!

Once I get down to around 13-15% BF I'll probably be about 177lbs. If you're willing to succeed and get in shape you'll do so - if you're not, you'll fail and go back to being the fat ass you once and always will be. It's all about willpower.

Return to your desk and begin snacking until 5pm.

Face it: You will always be a disgusting fatass.

Right on, Minendo! I doubt that ANYONE has ever lost weight by constantly bitching about it and then eating at McDonald's. I've known people who've tried, though, and they are usually the most irritating and bitter people that you'll ever meet.

Proper diet and exercise are the only ways to properly lose weight. Shut your yap and move your ass already.

I always take the stairs, the elevators at my work are too slow most of the time. Oh and my lunch consisted of broccoli, corn and bottled water.

Not exactly. It all comes down to balance. To say that everyone should be able to work hard and eat crap is only partially true. It is more about eating a meal plan that reflects your lifestyle. If you work hard, then eat a lot and if you work a little then eat a little. Also, even if you work hard, eating crap still isn't smart. It could lead to other problems and it could make you feel crappier in your daily life. To work hard and eat healthy would be the ultimate scenario. It is also very hard for someone who doesn't have an active job to take up a second job of working out. Your blue color workers were doing 2 jobs at once, their primary job and a secondary job of staying in shape. If your job is to sit at a desk all day, then you split your second job into one that has to be done at night when you are mentally exhausted.

I guess what I am saying is, it isn't as simple or easy as most people make it. It is a very complex issue.

I get less pissed off at fat people taking the elevators than I do people will rolling backpacks.

Fat people could break down and have a heart attack from climbing stairs, not to mention they will build a nice line behind them as they chug their way up each story.

People will rolling backpacks seem to think that their luggage is the same as a wheelchair... it can't take stairs and you must make sure it has it's own space in the elevator.... Tons of them at my school and I hate every single one of them.

Of course it only has one floor so that could be the reason, though it is 45K square feet so the walk to my desk in a little long ;)

Our doors from the stairwell are locked otherwise I would use them (7th floor).

I have been working out for a month now, haven't missed a day yet and I am feeling great. My only problem is deciding which six pack I want more. I know I can't have both right now.

Well, yeah there is that and the fact that it's a 1-story building. ;)

Think it's time for a Fat Bob's triple decker bacon cheeseburger.

There is an elevator company near me that only has one floor. I thought that was pretty funny.

Healthy eating's where it's at; not a draconian diet, simply healthy eating. I've starting making a salad every sunday night for the coming week, portioning it out into tupperware containers, and taking one to school/work with me along with my Nalgene bottle (I  my Nalgene bottle). I've also started eating more fruits (1 apple, 1 banana a day, along with yogurt or peaches when I wish), and other than that it's just about portions and variety. I will have fast food on occasion, but never more than once a week. If I really need a soda I'll buy a 20 oz diet coke then not have one for another couple days.

Just about discipline and portions. Dammit, I need to start exercising too.

Don't forget about the 5 minutes signal light blinking wait so you could park 2 spots closer to McDonald.

Thanks Red Dawn for the vote of confidence. I'm so serious. I've never felt better in my life. My wife is also doing this type of stuff too. Although, she's a toothpick. She is 5'6 and only 125#. But, she's helping me tons with cheering me on. I think it has also strengthened our relationship as well. Although it was great to begin with.;)

I never complain to anyone that I'm fat, nor do I ever use it as an excuse. I never say that things are hard to do because I'm overweight. If something takes more effort, I suck it up and get it over with.

And since when does your self righteous ass care about my body? It in no way effects you, so STFU. I would cetainly rather be fat than have the kind of mentaility that you have.

Who said I care about your body?

What I am ranting about is the lard asses around here that constantly bitch about how fat they are and that the recent fad pills they are on don't seem to be working.

I know I'm not a fatass. I take the stairs EVERYWHERE...even up to the 8th floor in a building at school, and I'm 5'8" 130 lb. Plus, I still eat things I like (crockpot chili rocks my world) I just eat the right amount of it. I usually eat two meals a day (cereal, muffin and OJ for b'fast, and whatever I make for dinner). Sure, I get hungry during the day but it feels better to come home early and have a big dinner than it does to gorge on fast food at school and not be hungry for healthy stuff at home.

:)

Ahh, I took it as a message aimed directly at fat people, sorry. That said, I hardly see threads about diet "pills" around here, unless I'm just out of the loop :p Most people are on some variation of that damned Atkins diet, where they're loosing weight, quadrupling their cholesterol, and clogging their arteries all at the same time.

Just finishing up my second 32+ oz nalgene bottle. I wonder how much water fits in the neck :)
