F1 and Ovals.

I agree. Dick Trickle racing at 19000rpms with that new fangled traktioned controller would be a sight for sore eyes. Schummy wouldn't know what hit him, literally!

No. If you want boring watch NASCAR. They should have a race at Germany's Nurburgring like they did long ago. A 13 mile lap with over 70 turns is much better than a left.

Agreed...all left turns are boring and suck a fat one.

And I've found something even more sucky/boring than NASCAR...those NASCAR SuperTrucks!!! True pointlessness😛

I agree NASCAR races usually $uck the big one but the Indy 500 today wasn't that bad and I like the diversity of the CART series.
Would be fun to see those high revving F1 engines blow up.
😀

One of the BMW engines blew up today at Monaco 😀

To sum up races on an oval track:

here they come.....there they go!
here they come.....there they go!
here they come.....there they go!
here they come.....there they go!
here they come.....there they go!
here they come.....there they go!
here they come.....there they go!

I just don't get it. Maybe I need to marry a cousin or something, LOL

Speaking of Schummy, did anyone catch him on 60 Minutes a couple of weeks ago? He was on 60 Minutes because he's the highest paid athlete-type person in the world, collecting about 80 million a year.

It was great how he so matter-of-factly stated that he would never race in the Indy 500 because that sort of racing is a step down from F1. "A step down" is exactly what he said.

I am not a huge fan of ovals myself but I've seen some good racing on ovals in the CART series.
As for the 'step-down'.... Yes in terms of hightech and money but I bet it's not that easy to race 250mph 3 feet from a concrete wall for 500 miles.
As I said before, I prefer CART over IRL because off the different track types. I watch F1 too but the suspense is almost gone. Not eanough competitive teams.

And taking a win where his team mate was ordered to slow down isn't? Wow.

That's the only thing I don't like about any racing, whether it's F1 or NASCAR. If you win, it better be by out racing the field, not having the field slow down for you.

they allready do reach unmanagable speeds at the US Grand Prix, if they didnt run the road course, the possiblilty of cars flying in the stands would be very likley.
