I can't return a $60 game because of your, and other game publishers, restrictions.

I talked to the manager at Walmart at Electronics Boutique. Both said they can't take back opened software due to publisher's rules.

I'm downloading all of my stuff from now on. The hell with paying $50+ for a piece of crap!

OMG !!! I HOPE BESTBUY DOESNT HAVE THIS POLICY TOO!?!

but seriously : it's not really news, it's a policy at pretty much every retailer not to take back opened software, movies, and cd's. If the reasons arn't obvious....

You knew this before you purchased it. By purchasing it, you agree to the store's return policy.

umm think this through and perhaps you'll understand why.

And there's such a thing as renting a game for $4 first... or try demo's for PC.

If you don't want to take the risk, then read a review before you buy the game mr. self-righteous rationalizing his theft of copyrighted material...

Maybe you should familiarise yourself with store's return policy BEFORE buying anything. Save yourself an aggrevation and spare us from reading stupid rants that are of noone's but your own damn fault.

i bought a cd from best buy that wouldn't work in my cd player because of copy protection. they didn't have the non-copy protected version to swap it from so they let me exchange it for a totally different cd.

as far as software, i thought they can let you exchange it for the same product as long as it doesn't have some type of registration/online code.

best bet is to ebay it.

I thought you could only exchange it for the same title if it was defective.

You used to be able to years ago, back when games came on 5.25 floppies! 😛

EBX at my local mall allows me to purchase brand new games and return them within 3 days even if they're open.

I don't know any place over here that will let me do that. 🙁
