F*** You Comcast

I need Comcast to come and fish the cable from outside to the master bedroom via the attic. I had an appointment yesterday from 8am to 12pm for them to do it. 8:30 am I get a call from the technician claiming that he couldn't come until 11am and that it would be "too hot" in the attic for the technicians to work. It it was 85+ outside I would agree, but it was a comfortable mid 70s. He said he could come tomorrow morning (now) at 8am. It is now 9am and I haven't heard from them. I have now missed two perfect days for climbing for Comcast to jerk my chain around.

If I set up an appointment, twice, and you can't make either of them why bother telling me you will in the first place? I'm 23 years old with no college education and even I understand the importance of keeping your appointments!

Oh, and I went into the attic yesterday at about 1pm and the temperature was fine. The technician said it would take about a half hour to do the work, you could easily stay in the attic for a full 30 minutes and not be uncomfortable.

I needed Comcast to come out 8 times to fish the cable from the street to my unit and then eventually hook-me up inside. They suck but I did get free service for a year. Call and complain, every time you do, they'll give you a $20 credit or more for your trouble.

When did this start? I have quite the history with them!

This was in April. I ended-up escalating the issue to I can't remember how many people and eventually got the cable installer fired (he showed-up an hour later than scheduled then proceeded to spend forty minutes in his van on the phone) then refused to perform all the work and I had to make him call his boss to tell him to do it. Also, had multiple appointments canceled on me without anyone informing me. Kept bringing out the wrong equipment to wire my unit from street. Frustrating as hell.

It's almost 12, they haven't shown up and they haven't called. WTF comcast.... WTF

What sucks is that people have to take time off work sometimes for these appointments.

I don't understand how people with jobs ever get this stuff taken care of.

Time Warner Cable is NO better, trust me! TWC wouldn't even go in an attic any time of day. They get 10 WORST is customer satisfaction surveys every year!

Makes me glad I have no other choice. Those bastards bought the cable line to my apartment complex.

Comcast hooked mine up on a Saturday, and came within 30 minutes of when they said they would. *shrug*

Does Comcast do the installation work themselves, or do they contract it out to another company?

Mix. I'm guessing it varies by the area.

Both ways here.

I am lucky enough to work 4:30pm till late (it allows me to play in the day). My climbing is very important to me and I picked up a job that allows me to climb during the day. It feels like there aren't many days with perfect temps and a good climbing partner on hand. It sucks to lose the opportunity for wasted time.

It's going to be funny .... you expect this to be a free service. It won't be.

I know exactly how much it's going to cost. $33 an hour + $29.99 just to show up. I could care less how the cable is installed, but the landlord wants it fished though the attic. He is going to pay the money for it, I am going to pay with my time.

I live in a college town, my friend needed Comcast to deliver an HD box to his house... Comcast said they would be there between 12 and 4. The technician shows up at 7:45 at night, notices that we are drinking, then proceeds to ask us for a beer! TOP NOTCH technician there.

Hey that is prime drinking time. Cant say I blame him.

If my life involved being a cable guy still working at 7:45pm, id want a drink too.

I'd give him a keg if he could hook me up with some free HD channels and powerboost.

Did you not hear? Comcast is now limiting technician visits to 30mins/month due to customers abusing their face time with technicians.

Ask to have a Comcast contractor show up, mine was top notch and ran cable wherever I wanted and left me with extra cable.
